Well, they're photos.
The effects would be used in a mentalism context instead of a magicians. So you might tell them to picture something that their chosen card evokes in you. So during a reveal, instead of saying "You chose the 7 of Clubs", you might say, "I'm seeing you with a group of people. They're not strangers in a train station, they're people close to you. They're all very happy. And I hear them repeating something. No, they're singing something. They're singing 'Happy birthday to you'. You chose the card with the birthday cake". There are several other applications and effects shown, like an effect where a ghostly image disappears from a card with a creepy haunted house. I hope that helps.

You can also do what I consider a really nice Out Of This World effect.
Very simple to do with a legitimately mixed up deck, with no need to switch piles of cards around at the end. You can do an effect of "Finding the mates" (which your average spec doesn't understand until you explain it to them), but instead of finding the King of Hearts and the King of Diamonds, they find a pair of feet and a pair of shoes or a knife and a fork or a skull and a brain. And I still have a good number of videos to watch. You could also probably figure out some additional effects on your own if you're the creative type. I'm not. I hope that helps.

Sorry to ruin your party, Peter, but please don't buy this.
Buy "Of Dice And Men" instead.

Will the gallery allow me to do something else? Can I divine a photograph without using a stack or peek (are the cards marked)? Is it like the visionary photos where you can divine based on audible sounds? Etc. Perhaps someone can PM me a direct answer. Is the gallery a stack of photos or something more? |

I have just received this and I think it’s fantastic
Loads of great workable routines taught very well, it makes a refreshing change from explaining that you knew they was thinking of the ace of hearts etc! It’s a great opportunity to bring out the story teller in you and take the attention away from the method used, which in mentalism is invaluable. This is a brilliant new release and thanks to Alakazam for bringing it out.

You can with "The Gallery". And you can make a ghostly figure cleanly and effortlessly disappear from a clearly seen photo using those effects, and then go into completely different effects using the same deck (with a minor clean up) with no problems? You can with "The Gallery". I know you can't do that with ESP symbols, but I don't know about other systems. No, you cannot divine a photograph without a st**k or p**k. I have and love and use "The Visionary", but I'm not really sure what you meant by that statement. Maybe I missed it. And like I said, I haven't finished watching the videos yet. Quote:

At any rate, I'm not bothered one bit by that. Bend in the opposite direction and it's effectively gone. But, honestly, I don't want anyone else to buy this. I am not a paid shill for Alakazam, and Peter is probably disliking me for saying that. Sorry, Peter.

I have used The Gallery on two occasions now and using one of the !@#$** Marc describes. Not only does it work a charm but an interesting aspect of both performances was how keen the assisting spectators were to talk about the images after the effect. They really associated with them. An unexpected but welcome bonus.

I apologise for the strange symbols in the above post. I was typing on my phone and the asterisks got converted to random symbols. The word I intended is a six letter word beginning with f.

Not yet. Might. I’ll wait until 2 deck handlings are uploaded to the instructional section.

I suspect this will be one of those items that may be unavailable for long periods of time. Secondly, I thought I may be interested in the routines requiring 2 decks so it made sense to get 2 from the get go. Thirdly, I have a couple ideas of my own where I may need a dupe or two, even if used simply as a prediction card, and not knowing exactly what is included in the deck it seemed like yet another good reason to add a second one to my order. Based on the good reviews I’ve seen I felt pretty confident ordering 2 sight unseen. It’s very rare (or possibly never) that I have been disappointed in the quality of an Alakazam produced product. They know how to do things right over there in Kent. I just wish they were a few thousand miles closer to me. |
