And why would mlippo always come in with a put-down to any thread where I'm involved? Because he's not only jealous - he's hateful, and I don't know - stupid?
My books have sold over 50 million copies (mostly my memory training books, of course) in many different languages, all over the world, so - of course...I'm jealous!! (Such silliness.) If I'm going to be jealous at all it would be over the great font of knowledge shown by Cavendish and mlippo. Think of all the help they've given to new (and old) magicians over the decades!!!! Wow!

Totally agree. I’m glad I started magic with card college. I had ECT a few months before but I was lost in the lengthy descriptions and sometimes lack of details.
I would like to see a volume 6 in Card college, with new techniques. The course is almost 30 years old now and some upgrade would be a nice addition. Of course, all the techniques and tricks contained in the 5 volumes are still of the highest value today. They are classic and will be great up to the point in the future when we will be able to move matter by the sole power of mind, we can scan others live at distance…Don’t be afraid, it will happen… |

And I confirm the willingness of Harry to help others. I was very young. Internet didn’t exist yet, I would say it was in 1995. I wrote Harry a letter to ask for some advices. He very kindly took the time to write, yes, write a real long letter to guide me. I’ve still this letter with me in my house.

No, I’ve no info in this regard. I’m on the mailing list of M.Giobbi and I recieved nothing. I was just hoping for a masterclass video which would be very interesting.

After buying Roberto Giobbis Card College for over 20 years, this book was a new beginning for me in card magic. In my opinion a masterpiece!

Yes this thread got a little off topic, but what's with the lack of respect for Harry? The man is an absolute legend! And the comments on memory and aging are very interesting to most of us. Harry is 92 and still going strong. Treat him with the respect he's earned,

I was a little disappointed by the early dvds from Card College. It was covering the easy stuff. I would like to see some techniques as the D’Amico double lift, the passes, false deals…done by the master.

I passed on the original CC dvds after reading the reactions here.
I suspect this upcoming project will be an entirety different animal. |

Kevin, Rachmaninoff, and others,
I found the CC dvd's really helpful. I imagine I'm not nearly as far along in magic as you two are; perhaps that's why we have different reactions. I found that the combination of written and video instruction was invaluable. The dvd's only cover the first two books, so it would be great if the new project covered volumes 3-5 as you suggested, Kevin.. |

You are right Bob, I imagine that the CC dvds can be very helpful for the big inner and intermediate student. Especially the rendition of the tricks. But technically, he didn’t show the hard moves of those two volumes : one card pass, classic pass, double push off and control with a key card in a on the table spread (wonderful).

Kevin and Rachmaninov,
All very exciting. "Elegant" is the word, and, as you say, he's a real scholar. I hadn't noticed that he didn't do the double pushoff on the dvd -- I thought he had, actually. Hmm... And I didn't notice the key-card-in-a-spread control. Even not knowing what it iis, it sounds exciting. I'll look it up. |

I think a lot of people have missed the spread control. But you can do miracles with it, in combination with other techniques and principles.
