Hello All,
I'm thinking about making some monkey fist balls out of 550 paracord. I was thinking about making them out of 3/4 inch ball bearings. Does anyone have any experience with working with monkey fist balls for the cups and balls? Any suggestions? |

People use ball bearings, mouse balls, small rubber balls, and marbles as the center of monkey fist balls. I suggest you just get a bunch of paracord and try it out and see which version you like best.
You can also play with different colors. There's a couple of guys who make these for magic and they make them in different colors and even multiple colors. |

I prefer them because they don't roll off the table in the wind. No need for bearings or balls, just use rope.
There are dozens of tutorials on YouTube, I experimented with several different sized before finding the one I like. I also use "magicians rope" with the core removed, I think that's better than paracord but I don't actually know so experiment. -JoeJoe

Give it a try, you can wrap golf balls with the colorful-soft rope for final loads.

Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

I don't have any experience with making them but I do use them in my cups routine. I was going to try making them but I found Monkee Nutz brand balls and the price was so good I figured why waste my time.
Plus the design they use I have no idea how I would go about making them to be honest. |
