King of Diamonds...
Thank you for your point-of-view. Unfortunately I will have to sign off from this board as I am in production again, so hold your fire... ;-) But I will grant you your wish before I leave to show my true appreciation. Just for you: I will not reveal a secret in the Las Vegas episode and add some more interresting audience reactions. Peace, Marco |

Marco,
Thankyou very much for your replies in this thread, I appreciate it. Though, as we are doing things just for me...any chance you could do a card trick involving the King of Diamonds? It would really make my day... Thanks, K of D Oh, and good luck filming....hopefully we'll see some better stuff than on the virtual magician... K of D

The effects a certain "magi-in-a-box" constantly performs are all straight out of the magic shop, and he has been enormously successful. Atleast Marco puts some thought into his presentation and performance. Quote:

He's telling you that they are going to be consistent. If you didn't like the first one, good for you. The others all have a similair concept, and you probably won't like them either. Quote:

And if that's all you plan on sticking to, then you're no different to any other magician who just sticks purely to those things. The comment about D'Lites not being original interested me, and made me laugh. You claim his material is un-original, but you yourself admit in the next sentence that you only practice the most unoriginal kinds of magic there is. Let me give you some advice. Next time a professional magician starts a conversation with you, take the opportunity to learn something, instead of trying to start a slinging match. -- Topher |

Thank you so much for that Topher.
Thank you for using your time to point out some of my many faults in your post. However I must - I will disagree with you on one point. You said "Most laymen hate cards and coins." Totally untrue. Card tricks are the best because there are so many different tricks and effects. From what I know, from the laymen I have spoken to, they prefer the classics. King of Diamonds

Magic is not about what you want to see. It's about what your spectators want to see. Uncle Barry does card tricks and pulls coins out of his nephews ears. It's boring. Everyone knows someone who can do a couple of card tricks as an ice breaker at parties. Not one of these "trick do-ers" (that is all they are) has the right to call himself a magician. When you can create a lasting emotional effect for your audience, then you are a magician. Remember, magic is considered by us - as magicians - to be one of the performing arts. Dance, music, drama. They all express feeling and emotion. Tell me, what emotion, or expression, is there in a card rising to the top after being placed in the middle of the deck? Don't get me wrong. I enjoy card magic. I enjoy performing and watching it. But I would like for my magic to create an effect that people will remember, not just give them a story they can tell some other magician 10 years down the track. "I picked a card, and then he shuffled the deck. Do you know that one?" Of course, what you do...is up to you. But trust me. There's a lot more to magic than what you have mentioned. Cheers, -- Topher |

So what you're saying is....
I'm going to watch the Las Vegas special, but I doubt you'll be interested in my comments, so I won't. After the Virtual Magician, I shall watch a far more entertaining magic show, Max Magic. Have either of you had the pleasure of watching that? Now that's what I call magic, tehre's cards, coins, ropes, animal magic, mentalism... King of Diamonds
