I was thinking do which hand first to provide an offbeat to act as cover while you ascertain whether it's heads or tails. Also gives you an opportunity to pick it up out of their hand. Also makes more logical sense - you start big by determining the hand then get even more precise by determining which side up it is.

Great news JM. And as far as the 3 stage, I plan on doing something akin to Neil's routine but will do the which hand first in mine. I would not do a switch hand as a stand alone in a show but combined with the casket and the other 2 stages it allows, it can work.

So tonight I performed one on one with my priest from Angola. He was totally amazed. He thought I was the devil. Then I showed it to a 21 yr old kid. He didn't put the half dollar in the Casket. Of course I guessed heads.i said well I should have shown a grown up. Oh well. Watch your specs.

All good things must come to an end. I finished up one last run of Coin Caskets. I think I've made enough to satisfy the serious workers and collectors alike. One thing my brother and I agreed on
is that we did not want to flood the market with our magic we create, another effect ending this year is the Swords Trough Half which was also a very good seller. Without you all, the success of this effect would not have been possible and once again ALL of us here say Thank you and Happy Holidays to you. Holiday Regards from all of us, Jake Jr. & Crew

The beauty of this effect is that if you were performing in a walk around environment you could effectively use this with maybe a few other half dollar effects and you would not require many things to carry.
I use: Coin Casket - 5 minutes Eclipse (christopher taylor) 5 minutes A which hand - I use Scan3D Deck of cards Any other half dollar effects you can name? J |

Am glad that I ordered mine previously even though I knew there would be delay in receiving it. It would have been depressing to have missed out.

This will give me a better idea of building future coin effects so they can be used in the US , UK and other countries abroad. Kindest Regards, Jake Jr.

Have been spending some time with this and experimenting with different handlings and coins. Have discovered something kind of neat that I will be using in my routine. Have discovered that the primary tell on Kennedy halves pre 1970 is opposite to the primary tell on Kennedy halves after 1970. For clarity how you tell if the coin is heads or tells is opposite on the coins pre 70 and post 70. This is when silver was stopped and a small design change. This opens up some neat angles. Show two halves, have two spectators freely select one (one half is pre 70 and one is post 70). While your back is turned or while out of the room have one spectator place their half in the box and then in the bag. You can then determine which spectators coin is in the casket!
Could also patter about the fact that silver was stopped in the production of half's in 1970... you have have the ability to sense if a coin has silver in it without seeing it or touching it... Possibly use a sharpie and write no on one and yes on the other for another approach... You do need to know the orientation of the coin when they place it in the box. I will use something like "Look Kennedy in the eye before placing the lid on" This ensures it is heads up without saying please put the coin heads up Anyway, adds another phase to this neat prop. Cheers! John |

Sounds good John. I imagine there will be a plethora of routines to choose from before all is said and done. I will soon be dickering with it myself as tracking shows that is is now in Ottawa and probably out for delivery. I will likely receive it today, tomorrow at the latest.
