I guess I should have ordered one from Airship during the Easter sale. The shipping is a killer at the standard price.

:(

If you think 5.95 is too much, then your right it's not for you. We run a business, pay employees and shipping supplies.
I guess you don't buy from Steven's Magic or Hocus-Locus or other vendors.

Now after having some time to think about it, here is how I should have approached.

We made every effort to offer something of great quality at a fair price. Shipping is expensive these days and rather than raise the price of the coin coffin, we charge a standard fee for shipping and handling to cover the expenses involved in running a company. We're no good to you if we are out of business!
We only charge a flat rate for both Domestic and International, any overage we cover and we don't mind.

I was just taken aback at the statement of shipping is a Reason not to buy it. I think I misunderstood his/her actual intention.

Kindest Regards,

However you look at it, it is a good value with excellent support. I appreciate that you keep working on routines and testing coins, replacing things quickly on the rare occasion where something isn't 100%. Thanks Jake. I'm testing out a new routine and going to be submitting it for everyone to have with the coin casket. It will take into account the 3 possible outcomes and have a surprise for anyone who steals the coin instead of putting it in the box Smile

I'm absolutely, completely blown away that some people think $5.95 shipping is unreasonable. Seriously? I've never met or dealt with Jake or his company, but he sure seems like a just, accommodating & a helluva good bloke by his postings. All comments & reviews from fellow members that I chat with, are unanimous in praise of their dealings with the man.

Sorry, I think you answered it correctly the first time. Never apologize for running your business to make a profit and not to lose money.

Raise the price by $5, Jake, and charge $2 for shipping.

Now shipping is a bargain!

Problem solved.

Hi Jake, you owe no one an apology for running a business and making a profit, magic or otherwise. A fair price is all anyone should expect and that is what you have. I would say to all who have a gripe, spend thousands of dollars for the equipment, skill for turning, money for supplies, time to manufacture, test, package and ship the product all over the world. This doesn't include licenses, paying taxes and insurance. Why not get a paying gig and you have the shipping covered. Whew!!!

Best

Thank you for your understanding. I just felt an apology was due, based on my tone of the message. I just took it the wrong way.

I ended up ordering a mini briefcase from Airship Magic and it arrived today. WOW, the difference in quality compared to the ones I purchased from Amazon is actually kind of amazing.

Amazon sourced one: Long piece inside briefcase right behind the handle and latches is made of plastic. The springs on the buttons (to open the latches) are weak and feel flimsy.

Airship Magic sourced one: That long piece inside behind the handle/latches is made of metal. The springs on the buttons are super strong by comparison. It actually takes a little bit of effort to unlatch the latches. The springs on the latches themselves are also stronger.

Live and learn, I should have ordered it from Airship Magic in the first place.

Thank you, Jake Jr!

Just received mine. Customer service was top notch.

I didn't see any directions for it in the package, however.

If someone can PM directions, I'd appreciate it. (I have reached out to Wravyn who recommended it and to Airship, I'm just impatient. I have an Assembly meeting tonight, and I'd like to show it off).

I received your "Missed Chat" notifications and sent several routines to you via email. So now you will have a back up Smile
Glad you found the original that was sent with it and sorry for the scare of missing instructions.

Speaking of customer service, when I received mine it had a slight problem. I emailed Jake and wound up sending it back to him. He stayed in constant contact with me and sent a new one I received in the mail today, complete with the most beautiful coin(s) I've ever seen.

How I wish all magic creator/suppliers had this kind of integrity and desire to support their clients!

Thanks again Jake!

I received a large amount of Silver coins, all 90% Silver. Out of all the coins a roll of BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) Ben Franklin Half dollars. They are also called Blazers or Brilliant White.
They are absolutely beautiful. 14 work perfectly with the Coin Casket.

We would like to say Thank You to everyone for their supporting words. I was surprised to get an email with a link to a review that was written up this past weekend.

Everyone and this thread made it fun to make them and to see all the chatter with the different ideas for using it.
