Thanks John for that info it looks great, I happen to have a little leather one I got about 20 years ago from Mark Mason for business cards that does the job too. Kudos for a super idea and thanks again for sharing. Olly

I really wish I could put you all on Payroll for writing routines for us. This effect has evolved into more than we ever expected here.

On a shameless plug, according to the US Postal System, today is the last day for First Class shippings to make it by Christmas , the 21st is cut off for Priority mail.
we have 43 units left and would like to see Zero Smile

John, were can I get one of those little suitcases.I have some gaffs and that would make a perfect safe haven for them.

Here's a pretty simple routine I came up with that requires 3 caskets! Ideally you do this with 3 people, but it could be 1 or even 2.

I introduce the caskets as I take them apart and place them on the table or mat in their 3 pieces. I then instruct the participants to mix and match the pieces to create 3 all new caskets, after which they are to place the Kennedy's inside either heads up or tails up or without looking. They are then to put the lids on and place them in the middle of the mat in front of them. I tell them I will turn my back the entire time this happens. Once completed I turn around and one by one I share some patter as I slide the caskets back towards them to get my tell and announce the coins orientations.

Take a bow!!

Payner44 I have this and love this but you surely are on the sales team with Mad Jake and registered just before he sold number 44 ( joking ) offering a 3 coin monte effect to get rid of the remaining stock before Christmas lol. They deserve to all be sold to be fair as this is brilliant, Olly

This is a great piece of work and well worth the coin but one is enough in terms of caskets. An extra coin might be a good idea though.

Hey Jake:

A quick google search will reveal many sources, this is one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Metal-Mini-Brie......41355309

Nice idea to engage multiple spectators Payner... earlier Payner shared with me the subtlety of getting the read just by sliding the box a bit on the table with your fingertips... works great.

And yet another way to get the tell. Good suggestion. I like it. It always helps to have multiple possibilities in case you need them.

Thank you John, I did a search and wasn't sure if it was like yours. Thank you for the link.

Some photos below of the set-up I am now using for the Coin Casket. Everything is carried in a small metal briefcase which I have lined with black velvet (these cases are easily sourced online).

Inside the case is a small box containing the Coin Casket. I made an insert to nicely house the Casket in this box. I perform first with just the casket, then comment that they might think I get a clue from touching the box. For the second phase they seal the casket in the small box... I still determine if it is heads or tails. I comment that while I cannot touch the box, possibly they think I am getting a clue through the clear lid. For the last phase I tell them to seal the casket in the small box and then seal in the briefcase (while my back is turned). Sometimes I also have them place the coin in the casket behind their back for this phase so that even they do not know if it is heads or tails (I explain this precludes me getting any clues from their body language).

This three phase routine that looks like increasingly impossible conditions is playing great and the boxes make a great way to carry and store the casket Smile

Great idea, John! I found the little card holder briefcase on Amazon. But where did you get the clear plastic box of the right size? Everything I'm finding is too large.

Thanks!

Okay, I've figured out that the type of plastic case I need to search for is a clear polystyrene type. John, Is your case 2" x 2" with a 1/4" inside height? I've found that size online. The next larger size is 3/4" tall, which is too tall. The Coin Casket is exactly 1/4" thick so I'm wondering if the Casket just barely fits in your case. That is, of course, what we want (a tight fit with the plastic lid pressing down on the Casket) but with the added thickness of the velvet, I wonder if 1/4" tall would be too tight.

Unfortunately, the source I found will only sell in lots of 100. I hope there's a better way. Perhaps Hobby Lobby or Michael's?

This is the mini briefcase I found on Amazon:

$12.99, which is about $6 more than the eBay one but I'll have mine on Sunday (Amazon Prime).

Hey Mark, my small box is 3/8" deep. 1/4" might be a bit tight. I got my box with a bunch of samples from a company many years ago for project I was working on back then. So I cannot be of more help on a source.

Thanks, John. I'll find something, I'm sure. Thanks for the idea. I've got a 3 trick mentalism routine in mind. First I'll do Coin Casket with just the casket and the pendulum. Then I'll repeat it with the plastic case and mini briefcase. Then I'll mention that, "As impressive as getting it right twice in a row happens to be, it's still only a 50/50 chance of being wrong." "Let's raise the odds", which is when I'lll turn to my ESP Die-Cipher. "Now there's only a 1 in 6 chance of getting it right." Following the Die-Cipher performance I'll turn to a deck of cards and perform the 52 to 1 card trick. "This kicks the odds up to 1 in 52!"

If they aren't impressed at the end of those three then it's time to go home. Smile

Found a source for the clear boxes. We ordered a bunch as we can use them for the coin shells we make. Will be happy to let you all know when they arrive.

Thanks, Jake Jr. You probably had to order something like 100 of them (minimum)?

Are you going to sell the clear plastic boxes just as empty boxes?

Thanks!

We ordered a 1000 piece case lot. We're just going to sell the empty boxes, they won't be much, and the others we plan in using for gaffed coins
we have planned for 2019. Lot's of uses for the boxes. We also ordered a couple dozen black suitcases as well.

And yes, thank you John! We're just going to sell them for what we pay for them. It just takes forever to get them from China when you buy them by the piece.
You order some quantity China dealers are happy to send via E-Packet which usually arrives into US customs in about 5 days vs. a month for economy.

And again Thank you John and if you rather I not offer the items, please let me know. I had just figured since they were out in the forum now
to make them easy to get. I don't want to step on your toes on this one.

No worries Jake... the routine is working great for me. Hope a few others are able to make a set. I showed it to a number of magicians at the magic shop yesterday. I could have sold a number of sets on the spot Smile.

Cheers,

John

Hey Jake, I got this for Christmas after asking for it, but my wife (Tarah Stockwell) ordered it and may get the ebook/forthcoming routines in her email. Long story short, she's not great about finding those emails. Could you add me by chance? I can contact you for proof and identity.

Really looking forward to using this in a routine. Very nice. And I too, would love to know the visual method and/or the way to insure sometime doesn't trip me up and not put it in secretly. Great item!
