Anyone in these forums using "The Siamese Stack" concept from Woody Aragon as described in his latest book "Memorandum"?
Any replies regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

hbenod

Haha - great response, Woody!

I actuality, I have been using such a stack for various effects for a long time, well before I read Woody's book. However, Woody has discovered many more applications for it than I had, and since then I have been slowly studying some of his ideas to see what ones appeal to me the most. I got a little off track this fall with other projects that needed my attention and priority, but now that those are past I hope to spend more time with this type of stack. I also hope to spend a lot more time with the teletriumph (all variations) as a closer. Fantastic effect.

I'm interested in getting this book to learn about the Siamese stack. I use mnemonica and don't want to change.

So my question: does the Siamese stack require two decks?

No, just one deck is in play and you can certainly use your knowledge of Mnemonica combined with Woody's Siamese stack principle.
Obviously the things that he devised based on HIS stack would be lost, as any stack-dependent tricks out there ...

I actually performed his Siamese Stack trick called Back in Time at my last IBM Ring meeting and won the theme competition with it. Great trick and I got a lot of good feedback about it from others after the meeting. His version of Mnemonicosis using this stack is awesome too.

I’ve been considering this book for a long time purely due to the praise the Siamese deck section gets. But for full transparency, that’s the only bit of the book I’m interested in.

Are there any effects in particular you guys absolutely love using the Siamese principle?

I have my own routines but they are a bit linear, very much a case of “this is the first thing you will come up with when you discover the concept” kind of deal. Any brief summary that doesn’t give away the workings would help me decide whether to purchase, would be greatly appreciated...

You can use the siamese stack with your own stack, you don't need to use Woody's. I actually use it with Mnemonica. It's a great principle, and lots of applications in the book. I highly recommend it.
