If any of you rememeber reading the "performing at work" I have an update. I went to the shop today. And when I was walking around with my boss I took out a 50 cent piece and played with it for a sec. Then I put it in my pocket. And then he asked me what was up with all the jingling in my pocket I whiped out all my coins and showed him. He asked whats up with the 50 cent pieces. I told him about performing for the magicians tonight. He said we should talk about me performing at work.

Are you sure that's good. My mom once told me "We should talk about you playing with fire in the house." Smile

I'm assuming the tone your boss used was quite different.

Cheers,

Wow, thats great! Good luck and i am sure you'll be having lots of fun now. The closest i get to performing any magic at my work is if somebody screwed up and then someone quips something like "why dont you just wave your magic wand" ??? ugggg I think i need a magic broom to sweep away some of the more annoying types! Take care.

As far as performing for co-workers, be prepared to get more heckling and comments from the audience than from total strangers. A long time ago, some wiseguy was once quoted as saying "A wiseguy gets no respect in his own hometown."

He was a very wise guy.

Wouldn't you agree it's much better to have the boss on your side than worrying about what might happen if you get caught?

Good luck with it!

And dont be suprised when you start getting all of the "wise cracks" about magic..
I catch hell here at work *L* but occaisionally we will have a visitor come in with an employee and the first place they go is my office..." hey, this is so-n-so, show em one of your tricks" ... *L* its worth the wise cracks I guess... good luck!

During the year I am contracted to work in a high school as the Nearly Normal Counselor. You know the one that between groups for students who have problems dealing with death, anger, divorce or children of addicts/alcoholic parents, does his comedy strait jacket escape during all school assemblies.

During the summer,(since most students are off for summer break) I offer my Making A Good Intelligent Choice (MAGIC) to agencies in Jackson County Missouri.

Today for the first time I did it for my agencies clients and staff. I was nervous, since I work with these folks, but it went over fairly well.

Here is one of my new lines.
A very famous man once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." His name is
Albert Einstein. You probably have heard of the new venture he and his brother have come up with. You know all the bagel shops in town. (this would only play if you have tons of Einstein Brothers Bagel Shops in YOUR town.

Keep growing and glowing.
