Man, my commute into work this morning was horrible. There was an accident on I-95 and traffic was literally standing still. There was a young boy in the car directly in front of me, he looked to be about 6 years old. He was not happy about the surreal traffic jam that they were stuck in. His mom was driving and he was looking out the back window checking out the big rigs next to me, and occasionally looking straight back at me. He had a grumpy and annoyed expression on his little face. I decided that rather than be all ticked off about the situation, like most of the other cars around me, I would entertain the little kid in the car in front of me. Now, seated in a car is not my preferrred performing situation, but I took my deck of Bikes out anyway, and did some flourishes for the kid. I produced several fans of cards from thin air for him. His frown immediately disappeared and was replaced by a huge smile! All it took was a few fan productions and a thumb fan or two, and I made this kid forget that he was stuck in a non-moving car. It was a really good feeling for me. I didn't even care that the corporate commuters in the cars next to me might have seen this nut next to them making thumb fans in his car! After a minute or two of performing for my one-person audience, the traffic cleared and my audience drove away. It is awesome to know that I made that little dude's day a little more magical by my improv performance.

I've a couple to add:

From posts in Cards about Stripper Decks: People regressing to their childhoods and doing a beavis/butthead over the word "Stripper."

From local store: Going in for a book or effect, and having them pitch everything under the sun. The funny part was they kep stearing me away from the things I actually wanted to buy!

Nothing to do with magic, but drives me nuts: People shopping at grocery stores. Aisle is just big enough for 2 shopping carts. People stop their cards in an aisle, and stand next to the card, effectivly blocking the aisle. Or stopping where there is a box blocking 1/2 the aisle, and they block the other 1.2. *&@%(&^%!
