Star Trek.
Needed a break from report writing and figured I'd see if any fellow nerds would respond to the reference 😁 Life is seldom perfect, but I'm in a good headspace these days. No worry intended.

Try to remember congruent communication. Though a Greek chorus and interpretive dance can be entertaining too.

A very memorable Next Generation episode. Paul Winfield was superb. Although the episodes had their differences, the Darmok episode brought to mind one from the original series - Arena - where Captain Kirk battles a Gorn.

Brown's story has the "roller" creatures already engaged in a war. Star Trek moves the conflict onto moral grounds and also adds a third party deus ex metron .

Also, the gimmick of Brown’s story was to get past the barrier, while the gimmick of the episode was to find the weapon that would bring down the Gorn.
Not to mention (without spoilers) the final resolution.

I still think the writers were inspired by that story. They even called the episode "Arena"
