On page 326 of Bobo's New Modern Coin Magic I find that M.S. Whitford's version of the Miser's Dream calls for this special glass with a recessed bottom large enough to hold "seven dollar sized palming coins."
Thus far my search on Ebay, thrift stores & swap meets has been in vain for this very item. I was wondering if anyone might have a source or suggestion for a similar glass. Perhaps they are still made - but the few bar supply places I've contacted have yielded nought. This elusive hunt has become a minor compulsion! I suppose a glazier could custom alter an existing glass but..... If anyone has such an extra old glass for sale - please PM me - The routine in Bobo - perhaps coupled with personal touches - and handlings/ elements influenced by Wally Dean's wine glass version in Bruce Elliot's Classic Secrets of Magic - could be a tasty treat of wonderment. Thanks & regards or suggestions. Charles S . |

Abbott's used to sell "Visible Misers Dream" a glass with recessed bottom to hold a batch of coins. Also it had a slit in the side so you could get the coins out and re-produce them as long as you wanted to.
