I haven't see anything on this forum about them but there have been good words elsewhere, rating them highly. Does anyone have them? If so, could you post your thoughts?

I have them and they are very good. One of the coolest and easiest to read from a distance marking systems I have seen.

I have them and they are very very good! Comes with additional gimmicked cards as well (double face and double back) which can be used for more routines.

Thank you Khuzhai. I included these in an order yesterday. I hope there are english instructions although for basic routines that should not be necessary.

My recommendation is to get them while they last, you won't regret it. Great product, great price.

Good advice. I refrained from posting some of the great comments I have heard about them until I ordered, fearing that they might well not last.

Can't wait to get these. Post is so slow here. Sold ESP cards 3 years ago but these seem too good to pass up.

These cards are incredible and are different from most sets of ESP cards in that they are easy to read from a distance of say about 6 feet. This allows for demonstrations that are different from most other sets of ESP cards. However, they are not good for close up. The spec will not be able to read the backs close up and neither will you. Set comes with a black envelope for x ray vision and several gaffed cards for other effects. There is a link to an online file for English instructions. These are highly recommended as long as they are not intended for close up use.

I love these cards so much that I always keep a couple of sets "in reserve" in case an undesired dog-ear or other damage should occur. I do a slightly modified version of Jan Forster's basic method with the spec usually seated while I stand, constantly moving nearer (to move a card) or backing away for whatever dramatic purpose seems appropriate. I personally have trained myself to read the backs quite close up and believe that most will find it is not really the distance that allows for easy reading so much as the obliqueness of the viewing angle.

Right, ESPissimo really lends itself to these cards perfectly.

I have come back here to this thread after a year and a half to reiterate that the Tenyo ESP cards remain my all-time faves for traditional tabletop ESP routines employing the original Rhine/Zener symbol set. Their #1 best feature, IMNSHO, is that the more close-up a suspicious spectator may examine them, the more impossible it becomes to suss out their secret "marking" system. The reason: Similarly to the DMC Elites cards, there really ARE NO MARKS per se, but rather an extremely clever "optical" system. Thus, as a bonus, you can honestly assure a spec that there are no hidden pictures, numbers, curlicues, rough areas, shiny spots, daubs, smears, scratches or anything else "added" to the card backs. I have even gone so far as to offer a hyper-suspicious spec a large magnifying glass with a built-in LED light to examine the backs as closely as he or she wishes. (Which, if you own a set of these cards, you know is really a dirty trick!) <wink>
Bottom line: I own most if not all of the commercially available sets of ESP cards being sold today, and as I have stated, the Tenyo's continue to be my go-to set. Not only is the marking system virtually impossible to figure out, but the dark blue card backs themselves harken back more closely to the original Zener cards than any others, with simple white dots replacing the somewhat more suspicious pointy stars of the originals used by Dr. Rhine at Duke U. They are also nice to handle, come with a generous number of extra gaff cards, and are very reasonably priced. Such a deal, eh? <smile>

Unfortunately I have lost the instructions that came with the set, although do remember the marking system. However I would still like to refresh my memory with what the instructions said. If anyone is able to assist, please send me a PM. I am happy to send proof of ownership.
Many thanks Neil |
