In Michael Weber's 1984 Lecture Notes "Side Effects" he taught a nifty linking rubber band effect. Essentially the rubber bands are truly linked one through the other. In preparing the gimmick, after cutting one of the bands, he suggests using Super Glue to glue the two ends back together inside the other band.
As I recall from his actual lecture I attended in 1984, he said that not all Super Glue or Crazy Glue had the exact chemical that would allow the rubber to completely and properly bond together. If you got the right kind, it would create a bond so strong that the band would more likely break at another point than at the place where it was once cut. Can anyone tell me what that secret ingredient is I should look for on the glue? thanks, Scott

I find that Krazy Glue works best. Too bad I can't get it here. http://www.krazyglue.com/prac_krazy/prac......rodID=24
Also, not all Krazy glue works on the bands. Try the new fomula all purpose instant glue.

Well, that's my point of the posting. I know that not all Krazy Glue or Super Glue works on the bands. I want to know what the chemical component is in the glue that makes it bond to the rubber bands. Then I can look for that ingredient on the tube.

I know Krazy glue "All Purpose" instant glue works. It comes in a small tube in a air-tight container that looks like a chap-stick.
