Beginning with the August issue, I'll be doing a special section in each issue of Smoke and Mirrors about memorized deck magic. Since I use the Aronson Stack, my focus will be on that, but I'll try to include items that can be done with other memorized stacks as well. At first, most of the contributions will probably be from me, but I invite any of you that have any thoughts, tips, etc., on memorized deck work to contribute. If you have any new handling, alternate presentations, or variations of already published routines, send them to me at and I'll include them in Smoke and Mirrors. In particular, if you know of any card routines which can be adapted for use with a memorized deck, that is of special interest. The ones which are most valuable are those that retain the deck in order, or allow you to reconstitute the stack easilly at the finish. I'll be outlining my versions of Giobbi's Invisible Card and Vernon's Think of a Card in early issues. In both cases, there are advantages in using the memorized stack which make the effect both stronger and easier.
If you do not yet subscribe to Smoke and Mirrors, I recommend that you do. You'll receive it with your e-mail early each month and it's packed full of information of upcoming events in the world of magic, tips on tricks, etc. Yes, there's some advertising withing it's pages, but that's true of most printed magazines as well as most e-zines. It's absolutely free, so contact Angelo at:
Tell him I sent you and he'll put your name on the list.
