Haven't used a marked deck in a while but just purchased the ultimate marked deck to mess around with. I figured it'd make my key card tricks cleaner.
Any recommendations of any routines that use marked cards creatively? |

Hi. I always pretend that I can tell the difference between face cards & spot cards due to weight by the amount of ink used. Just hold each card by the fingertip for a split second implying touch sensitivity. At the end, turn over the 2 separated piles for a stunning conclusion reminiscent of Out of this World. Sometimes the simplest effect plays big.

I recommend the book called Boris Wild's Transparency. It has all the answers.

There is so much materiel available on this topic.
Do want a certain type? Gambling; mem-deck; stack; or what? Do you have any books or dvd's on mark decks? Are you willing to purchase. Do you want several options? If you want to focus on key-card effects, then the Encyclopedia of Card Magic has a chapter on that. It is available and inexpensive. |

"Hidden in Plain Sight" by Kirk Charles and Boris Wild is a great introduction to using marked cards and has many good tricks in it. It also has a good bibliography for future reading.

Has anyone played around with a CAAN? Have spec shuffle deck. Write a prediction down and leave it in full sight. Second deal until they say stop. In a completely shuffled deck they freely stop on your prediction.

For a very simple routine that makes a good start with a marked deck, here's something from Jay Sankey:

Marked 4 life by Wayne Dobson has a good bit of effects exclusively with marked cards.
