I just received my set, so I wanted to put it out here if you're a brass magic lover. I purchased the 'Wizard Coin Cups' from Viking Magic and oh my holy everything! What a beauty these cups are. They're gorgeous brass, beautifully produced, with an amazing tiny but clear 'ding' bell sound when each quarter is dropped inside. They also work flawlessly. I posted a review there with more about them. The price for these cups is a steal, in my honest opinion. I have a collection of other Viking / Collector's Workshop cups and can honest say these are my new favorite of all. Their secret is the ultimate in methodology for doing this type of illusion. George Robinson Jr., the producer of these cups and the proprietor at Viking is also credited as the inventor of this method. In a correspondence he told me the first set he made was for Al Cohen a few decades ago. His original method has been pirated numerous times since, both here and abroad. It's a now famous and very practical method for doing 'coins across' and I bought a set made by the inventor himself. Woohoo!

Must say that I totally agree. These things are beautiful and work so well.

Indeed! I'll tell you another brass item I've enjoyed and actually use from Viking, the 'Bill Vanishing Tube'. There's other possibilities with the prop and man, it's a beautiful piece to hand to the volunteer to hold and deceptive as heck (and heck's a lot!).

I must admit that I am not familiar with this specific prop … Is it similar to the Midas Cups in presentation?

Thanks,
Dan.

The routine is identical to Midas/Merlin cups but the method is different using borrowed quarters. Par for Viking, they are beautifully made.

Sorry for the late response, I've used it for mind reading with little colored plastic rods. When I steal the gimmick I can see what color was put inside. Another experiment I've been pondering is a penetration effect of a random colored rod put inside, penetrating through the bottom and the tube shown empty afterwards. A buddy mentioned how practical it is to switch a borrowed bill for one that its serial # matches a prediction or various tricks of this nature.
