I am interested in learning to roll a coin down my fingers. My fingers are old with average ability at best. Can someone point out which
book or dvd would have the best instruction for such a feat. Thanks in advance and have a great day, Walking Bob in Iowa |

When learning, I found Mark Wilson's Complete Course and Henry Hay's Amateur Magician's handbook to be great resources.

I'd suggest finding a video of someone doing a coin roll and imitating it until you have the action down. Once you can get a coin to actually moves across your fingers without falling off, then it just takes practice until it looks smooth / good. When I started doing it the coin moved *very* awkwardly, but after doing it about a thousand times it got significantly smoother. It's one of those things to work on while watching TV.

Roll it on your knuckles and point down, let gravity do it thing.
Both books will probably go over those points anyway. |

Yes, a lot of good advice here. It’s mostly just good technique and practice, practice, practice.😁 When I first learned this long time ago now, it was pretty much through trial & error on my own. Man, I wish I could’ve just had someone and something, no frills, like this to so expertly but simply, so immediately help show me the way.😊

I found that a good coin roll, especially when starting out is more about the coin size and hand position, index finger at the top at roughly a 45-degree angle, then the actual finger moves. I would experiment with a half dollar/quarter depending on the width of your fingers. Another thing I would consider is practicing both hands at the same time that way you won't have to relearn it over again in a few months with your off hand. along those same lines, I would work on the roll back up at the same time.

There's plenty of great tutorials for that on YouTube. That's how I learnt it
