I'm watching David Roth's video, learning good things... he's showing the classic palm... and then it dawns on me how big his hand is. Maybe I'm wrong but his hand looked pretty big... In order for me to have the same hand-to-coin ration he had for the half-doller, I'd have to switch to a quarter. But I've got small hands.
How much does hand size play into coin magic? Not just palm size but finger length. I'd imagine it'd make more of a difference in magic where you have to palm mutliple coins. Thoughts? |

Max Malini had very small hands, but he still palmed.
I have small hands, too, infact, they're about the size of a 12 year old childs, and stubby, but I use half dollers and copper coins all the time. And poker size cards. It's all about practice and audience management! Experiment with the various palms. I rarely use classic palm with coins, in my act, but regularly practice it. Even if your hands and / or fingers are abnormally small / large, you can palm! You're just going through the beginner's stage with palming where you think you can't do it. Six months from now, you'll wonder why you made such a fuss!! |

ChessMess,
To the contrary, David has rather small hands. He actually was a hand model for Burger King for some Burger King commercials because his hands were small, and made the burgers look bigger. That story came right from David from a lecture I attended. Dan |

Doh! I guess the ole addage that the camera adds 10inches to the width of your hands is true.
