Happy Valentine's Day Everybody,
Here in Japan, on Valentine's day, women give chocolate and presents to men. Men in Japan and other Asian countries then reciprocate by giving back on White Day (exactly one month after Valentines' day and usually several times the cost of the gifts received). I’m finally joining for the main purpose of being able to use the search function, specifically, to dig deeper into the gold mine that Mr. Dick Oslund and others have created here at the Café. If I were to list all that I greatly admire here, I suspect we might have a server overload. I’ve been entertaining for almost 30 years. Magic (close-up and parlor, occasionally stage), juggling (3 clubs and machetes, 4 balls), balloons, unicycling (had to stop), auctioneering, caricature and cartooning. I’ve failed miserably unfortunately with ventriloquism, cigar boxes and contact juggling. Please keep on making the world a better and happier place through entertainment with all the unique talents and gifts we’ve all received and developed. Cartoonist |

Welcome Cartoonist,
Dick is certainly an asset to the Café. I lucky enough to be friends with Dick. I have a little juggling and contact juggling in my show. I used to do unicycling and ventriloquism as a kid. I look forward to your posts. -Mary Mowder |

Thank you very much Mary,
Wow, that's quite impressive, unicycling and ventriloquism. I suspect there aren't many who were ever able to do that, congratulations. BTW, Mr. Oslund paid you a great complement in his book, "The Road Scholar" on page 130. :) |

Hi friend Cartoonist!
I'm home, after 4 months in the VA Hospital! I had 29 radiation "procedures", and, I'm now in remission!!! So, I'm home at last. I will return at regular interrvals for "check ups". I've been posting for a couple weeks. I'm happy that you joined our "group"! As an old geezer (87) I try to do a bit of mentoring, and counseling. by sharing what I have learned, over a lifetime of performing coast to coast and, border to border. Some of those here, think that I'm too abrupt, but, I feel that a poor performance hurts all of us. My PM box is kept quite full, with requests for help and advice. I was fortunate to have good mentors, when I was a teenager, so I try to share what I have learned. I never dreamed, as a young teen, that I would someday write a 400 page book, about my life in magic, that is selling in Australia,Asia, Europe, Canada, and America.
