Hi all - I'm posting this with Steven's permission. I know Steven very well - in addition to sharing magic with him, I've also served as his physician over the years.

Steve has to overcome many challenges, both physical and psychological, over the years. For example, he was so blinded by cataracts in the past that he was totally unable to identify a playing card held in front of his face (I helped to get those fixed). Magicians who have followed Steven on these boards are also well aware of some - let's say - "bad boy" behavior issues within the community. Unbeknownst to Steven, during that period, he was suffering from the effects of severe bipolar mood disorder. Once we got him hooked up on the right medications, he stabilized.

However, his life became way more complicated after that - he and his wife took over the (uncompensated) raising of her niece and nephew. This placed a great deal of stress on them for the past few years and Steve's mood gradually worsened again, making it very difficult for him to find work outside of the home. Friction developed within his marriage that, over time, have led to the present circumstance of divorce (which Steven describes on the Go Fund Me site).

He does have a difficult path ahead of him. Currently, he needs a vehicle, place to live, and a job (or work that he can do at home). He truly is panicking and is doing his best to cope.

Sorry to make this such a downer post, but Steve is a good man and I thought that some background explanation would help reassure magicians that this is not BS. My wife and I have supported Steve and his wife over the years. It always feels good to help those in need.
Life is an improv. The game goes on...

Looks like there are some positives. Gracie is now doing lectures.
I received this in an email.
Hi Everyone

I am very excited to announce that Gracie Morgan will be doing her 5th lecture for The Magic Forum on Saturday, April 17th at 2pm (Pacific).

It may very well be that you haven't heard of Gracie, but she has an incredible history in the world of card magic. Here is an interview that I did with Gracie where she tells us who she is and what we can expect to learn at her lecture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W0dkYQU_-s

All of her past lectures have been wildly successful and this one will be particularly special. It will be an intense session on the sleights and principles that Gracie has used and relied on for the 50 years that she's been performing sleight of hand, including: The Top Change, The Classic Force, The Top Palm, her Cull Control, Spread Side Steal, , the Pass, Glimpses, Cardini's Multiple Shift, and how to make almost any "pick-a-card Trick" bullet proof.

If you'd like to see some videos of her work and learn more about her lecture, you can go here:

Finally, Gracie would like you to know that the DVD's she's put under her former name of Steven Youell on the pass and other card sleights will be going out of print soon, so if you've been considering getting them, now is the time. You can find them at http://www.practicenotincluded.com.

To take part in this lecture please send $6 (via PayPal) to gracieamorgan61@gmail.com
All who purchase the lecture will receive a video recording of our time together.

See you then!!
