Hi,
I would like to use this type of effect in my act, as I walk on. I walk on, take my gloves off, throw them into the air and in their place is something like a bouquet of flowers. Are any effects like this sold, that maybe use something other than a bouquet of flowers?! There are many different versions of the gloves to bouquet of flowers; which is the best? Thanks. Sam |

There are many possibilities: gloves to ball, gloves to silk, gloves to streamer, gloves to dove. Tony Clark has a nice marketed effect. Check his gloves to streamers out. He uses them in his award-winning dove act. This is saying something!

Thanks Kevin,
That was a quick reply! Do you know where I can find more out about the gloves to streamer effect by Tony Clark? What about all the others that you mentioned?! Thanks. Sam |

I have and perform the gloves to streamer and LOVE it. It is a great visual effect that plays really well and is quite easy to learn.
Every time I present it in my opener sequence, it never fails to get lots of ooohs and awwwwws. I would certainly reccomend looking into that. Kyle

It's a nice effect. There is a demo of it on Tony's website. It's also on world magic wards, if you have it on tape. Great little opener, or next to opener effect. Certainly not for in the middle of an act, though.

Thanks. When you say the 'Gloves to Streamer' are you talking about the 'black and white gloves to zebra streamer', (Click here.) because it says that no video demo is available at this time! Where did you find the demo, Kevin?
It might just be me, but wouldn't it be more effective to change white gloves into a more colourful object like a multicoloured streamer or a bouquet of flowers, instead of just a black and white streamer? Thanks. Sam |

Sam, the demo isn't in his magic shop. It is on his website, under video clips. It is titled 'Stage to Stage' and demos his dove act. The gloves to streamer is his opener.
In regards to the change, I think you should read Magic and Showmanship (Henning Nelms). This book talks about this in detail. Remember, you want the impression to be that the gloves (one black, one white) transformed into the black and white streamer. With a multicolour streamer, the audience may think the gloves vanished and a multicolour streamer appeared. This isn't what you're after. |

Thanks,
Has anyone had any experience with the Glove to Streamer by Tony Clark? What size are the gloves and what are they made of? Is it possible to do this effect in the middle of a manipulation routine, or does it have to be done at the beginnining? Sam |

The gloves are made to fit all. I think they are cotton, though not 100% sure. It is possible to do the effect a couple of effects in, but it's one of these things that are good for openers, also gets the set up away, leaving you completely clean.
Sam, you said it was for an opener anyway; it will fit perfectly for your situation. |

Take off the gloves, toss them into the air and they change to something else (your choice), but when the other object comes down you have a pair of gloves on.

That's a nice touch Pete. Made me remember what a lady did. She was dressed in a black evening gown with a rose in hand which she threw into the audience, then it darted back to her and her dress was now bright red.
I think it was Lisa Menna. |
