I'am doing a research on "vanishing deck", "appearing deck", "deck through card box" (see "Reboxed" by Steve Bedwell), "card/s visibly travel through the deck"(see "Escalator" by Gaetan Bloom,) gimmicks.

Which vanishing deck, apearing deck, deck through card box, card/s visibly travel through the deck gimmicks do you know and what is your favorite?

Here are a few:

- "Reboxed" by Steve Bedwell:

- Escalator" by Gaetan Bloom.
An absolutely ingenious gimmick!

Vanishing deck due to the simplicity of it (looks great as well btw) and super easy to carry around + get in and out of play.

Something that is in the same realm as vanishing decks which I also highly recommend is David Regal's Disposable Deck. It doesn't have that super cool cards melting visual effect but it makes up for it by the completely unexpected effect of you literally crumpling the deck into a small ball of paper that you then just toss aside (I like tossing it aside, you could pocket the tiny paper ball if you wish, I just toss it aside and then step on it so that it's underneath my feet thus preventing people from trying to grab at it, etc.).

I agree on Disposable Deck by Regal as a good one.

In my stand up act, I get into a routine using Henry Evans 3D Advertising to produce the deck of cards.

In close-up, I’ll use David Regal’s Sudden Deck 3 to produce the Deck.

Escalator is a pretty trick, yet I found it cumbersome for myself. If using for walk around, it takes up pocket space. A formal style show, it may have been more useful. I gifted mine to someone else since I wouldn't care to use it the way I had hoped I could.

Just don't get "Postcards" by Herman Macagno and Tango. The principle, I think, is sound, but the gimmick is so poorly made that Vanishing Inc. sent me a replacement, and then refunded my money. So I now have two non-working sets that I got, in effect, for free. One day I'll put some time into getting one of them up and running--because it is a nice effect--but the whole thing left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't be bothered.

I'd like to know the original Gone Deck or where its precursor came from, if anyone knows. It was floating around the north-west of the UK over twenty years ago in conjunction with a solid deck effect, but I never owned it or the full thing. No dis intended to SL at all, just curious.

Ammar has a quick "cards into cardbox" on the Easy to Master Vol.5 (no gimmick), and Matthew Johnson has a nice vanishing cardcase

You can't go wrong with Sudden Deck 3 + Disposable Decks 2.0. They complement each other so well. Good luck finding Sudden Deck 3 though. Out of stock everywhere. V-Deck by Peter Nardi is also a worthwhile mention.

That site always throws a Norton blocked a Malicious attack error. Can't disable Norton on my computer. Sent David an email months ago, no replies at all. Don't really trust the website to be honest.

I put the URL on the VirusTotal website, only 2 antiviruses reported malware out of 67 antivirus engines:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/f8297c1......etection
So most likely it is false positive from Norton.

No kidding. Whoever made the gimmicks for that probably didn’t even watch the DVD to see how it was supposed to look and work, at least judging by the one I received. Like you said, though, the idea and effect were good.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.
