Negrette, why don't you contact L&L and ask them the question? I must admit I am a bit lost myself.
Furthermore, by asking a question in this thread, you apparently risk being flamed. I can see the post already:"What's to be confused about? All my stuff is great: get it all! " To Mr Lorayne, I must admit I was taken aback by this thread and your response to Fayaad. I simply do not understand why you were so abrupt with someone trying to find out more about your product. It's not because one likes vol. x and y of someone that s/he should necessarily conclude that s/he'll like vol. z. In fact, I personally have been burned enough times to know better. It seems perfectly valid that Fayaad would ask for a review to make sure it has the same quality of content than the other volumes that s/he liked... However, rather than responding constructively, you made it seem that it was completely irrational of Fayaad to even ask for a review... When someone tried to explain that, you completely missed the point and went on the defensive again and even threw more oil in the fire 4 months later. The thing is the quality of your material is not in question. I am just disappointed by your response... That's really too bad because I do admire your contribution to magic. In fact: Last April at the 4F convention, there was a vote amongst the attendees to decide who the 3 most influencial card magicians have been. The point was that at the next SAM & IBM convention, magic from these persons would be presented or something along these lines. I actually lobbied to get you voted along with Vernon and Marlo. I actually influenced 4-5 other persons to vote for you because of my respect for your teaching contribution. The result? you actually were voted (I think with about 10 votes) along with Vernon and Marlo as the 3 most influencial card magicians. I believe you just got a few votes more than Hofsinzer (spelling?). So Mr Lorayne; You have earned the respect of the magic community. There is thus no need for you to be always on the defensive. Appreciate the people who take the time to inquire about your material... Jean-Luc Dupont |

Actually I did email Mr. Lorayne himself too, as I mentioned, and he has already responded. Pretty impressive. Anyway, here is his answer to clarify for anyone else who might have any questions:
Hi: The second Link is an old one. That's before volumes 1 to 7 were put to DVD. The first Link says it all. It's simple. Originally there were ten volumes. When one purchased all ten volumes, they also received the video containing my first two videos from years before. Now, all ten volumes, PLUS that bonus video are ALL included in the four-volume DVD set. That's it - four DVDs containing all. Would prefer if you purchased them directly from me. Any other questions, please feel free to email me. Best - HARRY LORAYNE. And I do agree with purchasing directly from him. Whenever possible I try to do this for magicians. I mean if you purchase something directly from them, they see more of the profit for their material. I like to support my fellow magi. Thanks.
Mallusionist definition of the Simple force: The cards are fanned and if the spectator tries to take the wrong card, the magician holds onto the deck really, really tight.

Hmmm.... Not sure what you want to to know but maybe I can help:
110 effects over four DVDs explained in EXACTING detail 86 sleights AGAIN explained in exacting detail The four DVD set was originally in VHS format: Volume 1 through 10 of The Best Ever Collection plus Magical Classics. Obviously you don't HAVE to buy all at once but here are some of the effects you can research, and many are on Harry Lorayne's YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HarryLorayneOnVideo Among the ones I constantly use include but not limited too are: HaLo Aces, Fantastic Ace Assembly, Take Me to Your Leader, Rock and Roll Aces (Peter Marshall), Earthly Powers (Richard Vollmer), Un-earthly Powers, Magician vs. Gambler, Lorayne's Poker Deal #1, Two Shuffles Harry (Bro. John Hamman), The Sting (Walt Maddison and Harry Lorayne), Color Quickie, Impromptu Out of This World, Impromptu Linking Card, Poor Man's Monte (Vollmer, Marshall, Lorayne), The Ambitious Card Routine, The Invisible Pass Routine, Watch Me Work (Wakeman, Lorayne), The Moving Pencil, Out of My Control. All of the above IMO are great effects and ALL are impromptu. Harry Lorayne assumes you DO have basic card handling skills but that said, even with the number of sleights explained, Lorayne ALSO gives some cool finesses on other sleights you should already know, These are an excellent investment - and THIS coming from a person for whom BOOKS are a first choice. Ahimsa, Vlad PS: I would be glad to answer any questions about these in PM |
