Hi everybody!
I invented a vanishing-gimmick, I'd like to know if somebody has it already brought on the market and I don't know anything about it! Here's the effect (please tell me if you know that it's already on the market!!): The magician shows his hands empty from BOTH sides. He makes a fist with one hand. A spectator takes a coin and lays it in the magician’s fist. The magician rubs the fist, opens it and the coin is gone. He shows BOTH hands empty from BOTH sides and makes a fist again. He opens the hand and the coin reappears. He takes the other hand and rubs 2 fingers against the coin, lying on the palm. Suddenly its completely gone and you can show both hands from both sides. · Both sleeves are rolled up · show both hands empty from both sides, before and after the effect · many different vanishing methods · do it directly in front of the spectators · explanation how to let the spectator examine (even touch) your hand!!! · The spec. gives the coin in your fist (you NEVER touch it before!!!), you open it, and the coin is gone · A little practise (30 min) and you are able to perform (isn’t very difficult) · Fool yourself in front of the mirror, it looks so great!!! · Other effects possible with this gimmick · Works under every light conditons, and everywhere· Do it sitting, or standing · Gimmik is easy and fast to set up and clean up! That’s the effect. If your interested, you can watch a video clip under http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a0202093/105-0591_MVI.AVI [Link edited by staff, per the request below.] just go on the site and WAIT. it opens automatically after a while (about 10mb large - so it could take a while) greetings! |

Hi!
I'm so sorry, but I'm a absolute internet-dummy! it was hard enough for me to bring the file online the way it is! But perhaps you are able explain me shortly how it works! greetings, andy |

Seen the clip, It LOOKS like "Now-U-C-it,Now-U-Don't" from Meir Yedid and Jeff Stewart. Not saying it's the SAME as but LOOKS very much like it.

Andy, please have a look in Downs' Modern Coin Manipulation at the gimmick that consists of a coin with a small loop of line. This is one of the things that students of coin magic tend to invent or play with at one time or another. Recently a few people have marketed handlings of the thing.
It is a good idea, and offers some options that resemble the material demonstrated in your video.

Thanx for the answers!
to Jonathan Townsend I don't know the gimmick but when you say loop of line, I can imagine how it works.. but, yeah, a thread is used... but it can be lightening red, because it's ALWAYS out of sight for the specs. And I think for the trick you mean, you need to prepare the coin?!?!?! Does anyone who has "Now-U-C-it,Now-U-Don't" open to exchange information with me so that I can check if it'S the same?!? greetings, andy |

There are several other thread based vanishes as well. So, without "exposing" each of them, suffice it to say it has been done. Maybe not exactly the way you do it, but close enough to be considered the same in the eyes of other magicians.

Looks a lot like "Fickle Nickel" by John Cornelius with a little different handling.

That was one that I was thinking of, as well as "Melt" and "Now U C it..."
