The Hype:
Here's a spectacular new card sleight developed by Bizau Cristian, a young magician from Romania. It causes a selection to fly out of the pack without any apparent throwing action, and it's called Pop Fly. This ridiculously cool-looking sleight is available right now!

Vanishing Inc. has collaborated with The Blue Crown to bring you this EXCLUSIVE download for Pop Fly. Watch the video and you'll understand exactly what this versatile revelation does: cause any card (or two, or a double) to fly from the pack as you dribble the cards gently to the table. The mechanics are not hard to master, and it can be done with a borrowed, shuffled pack--no threads.

Pop Fly is the kind of sleight you can incorporate into your repertoire immediately.

Download the video and start doing the Pop Fly!

My Take:
Bizau is pretty young and seems to be a new face on the scene but that didn't stop him from coming up with this nice move. This move does owe a lot to both Daryl and Piet Fortin. If you can handle their variations, this should not be a problem.

The video is well shot and the camera work keeps your interest with scene cuts during the performance part of the video. There are several performance videos as Bizau teaches a number of applications for his move. The camera does seem to occasionally go out of focus but this doesn't affect the teaching.

This one amazing looking sleights (which ought to keep the move monkeys happy. Sorry Kosmo). He just dribbles the cards down and the selected card shoots out during the dribble. There are no gaffs. This can be done with a borrowed deck.

Here is what he teaches:

Pop Fly - which is the basic move.

Multiple Pop - several cards are ejected from the deck during the dribble
.
Spread Pop - As the cards are spread with a toss across the table, the selected card shoots out.

The Pop - the selected card swivels out staying caught in the deck by a corner.

Double - A double card shoots out looking like one card until it is spread.

As a bonus, he teaches a very pretty revelation of four of a kind. He also teaches several ways to reveal the card.

One of the revelations that I really liked was the Sandwich. Two cards are removed from the deck and set aside to be the sandwich. A card is chosen. The sandwich cards are picked up in the left hand, spread a little apart and as the cards are dribbled, the selection shoots out and is caught between the sandwich cards. This is a killer version. There is also a version taught using a spectator. As you dribble the cards, the selection flies out into their hands.

Do not expect to do this one right out of the box. It is going to take quite a bit of practice. The get ready is going to take a while, too. But once you get it down, you will have a reputation making routine. Vanishing Inc. has collaborated on this release and they are known for their quality.

Conclusion: This is the move that I will be working on. The demo video makes it look absolutely impossible. The mechanics of the move are simple but will take a bit of practice to get smooth. I can see Bizau getting a lot of lectures if he decides to tour. He may be young but it is obvious that he has spent a lot of time learning his craft. I would recommend this but only if you will take the necessary time.
