As part of the preparations of our new act, we've been doing some photos and other graphics which will be on the website and other publicity. My question is, should we include our logo on photos, or will that annoy people who might use the photo but who want to put their own captions next to it?

Here are two example images, one a black and white photo, the other a more stylised poster/magazine-style print, each with our logo placed. This will also have the website URL once we have everything ready to go.

Should we;
a) keep the logo on the pictures we distribute for use
b) not use the logo on the photos at all, but maybe supply that as a seperate graphic
c) do both, ie logoed and non-logoed versions of our photos.

Any advice gratefully received.

I think the logo looks great on your photo. It's agent friendly and gives you a idea about the style of magic you might do. Erick

Offer both, a photo with logo and one without. That way you make sure people get what they need.

Some newspaper editors for example will prefer to get a photo without a logo. They will make up their own captions. Make sure you provide enough information who is shown in the picture and what you do exactly. You should write your own caption with all the relevant information.

You may also want to offer low resolution pictures (72 dpi) for internet use and high resolution pictures (300 dpi) to be used in print.

Good luck with your promotion.

I like it too. I would use it on everything. Logos are important and they really DO help people remember you and of course your name.

I say use the logo on most all your materials. After all, it is your logo that really helps brand you in the market place and becomes your brand identity.

Use the Logo. It continues to reinforce who you are.

If you want put the logo in a corner, where is could be cropped out. If someone really needs it without (which I doubt), you could send them an electronic version. Or with photoshop they could redo it themselves (with your permission).

But I would really encourage keeping the logo in everything.
