Hi guys and gals,
I wanted to give the heads up on my new release. There'll be a demo video uploaded over tomorrow at some point, and I can Skype/WhatsApp//FaceTime if you need - send a PM. The whole thing will be available to download Monday 27th. The effect description that follows is accurate and complete, there's nothing left out - or your money back. I hope you love it as much as I do! EFFECT Several objects are arranged in a row. They may all be borrowed. The performer writes a prediction and it is given to a member of the audience for safekeeping. One of the spectators is invited to assist. She names any interesting word that jumps into her mind at that moment. Starting from the beginning of the row, the word she named is spelled out by moving along the objects, letter by letter. The object upon which the last letter of her word falls becomes the starting point/word for the second phase. (If the end of the row is reached, the spelling is continued in the opposite direction until the conclusion of the word). For the second phase, assuming that the opportunity exists, she is given a choice as to which direction the spelling of the name of the current object will be done (towards the left or towards the right from the currently selected object's location - spelling one way or the other will clearly arrive at different items). Its name is spelled out accordingly, using the next object in the row for each of its letters as before. Wherever the last letter falls, that object becomes the starting point/word for the third and final phase. Again, the helper chooses the direction in which the spelling will take place and this choice has the same ramifications as above. The object on which the last letter falls becomes the final chosen object. It's clear to all that had the helper thought of a different starting word, or chosen different spelling directions during each phase, that the outcome would have been different. Indeed, other spectators can play along in their minds (using their own starting word and direction choices) and they will get completely different results. Yet... The prediction that has been in the spectator's possession since the start bears the name of the final chosen object with total accuracy. It's an impromptu miracle! Blurbage: 1. 100% bulletproof method 2. Can be performed completely impromptu using everyday objects found in bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc., or with objects that people carry around daily (or use your own stuff, it can fit in a pocket) 3. All items can be borrowed 4. Can be immediately repeated for the same person with a different outcome (there are always three phases as per the effect description above - it is identical in performance regardless of outcome) 5. No weird or regional spellings 6. There are no forces of starting word or spelling directions chosen, no equivoque is used, and the spectator's choices are 100% free 7. Only one prediction (which they have had from the start, that you never touch again and that they open and read) is used 8. No stooges, pre-show or confederates 9. Self working (once you know what you're doing, but it ain't difficult) The Instant Download includes a video and PDF. Please ask any questions you have both before and after I upload the demo video, and I'll always reply ASAP All the best Adrian PS if you do reviews, then I will make a review copy available. Let me know. PPS AVAILABLE MONDAY 27TH (all you will get before the 27th May 2019 is a link to a King of Hearts jpeg, but I will get your money) |

There's a demo of sorts - NOT a performance video - outlining the three phases of the effect up on YouTube now. It's really just for those that struggled with my written ramblings. Now you get to enjoy my dulcet Northern tones whilst full of a cold, instead. Other than the borrowed items and choices changing, the effect plays out the same way every time, as per the description above.

How many objects is "several" and do they always have to be certain objects?

Seven as per the demo (sorry, should have said that instead of several), but it could work with more with thought if you're willing to put the effort in. I think seven is a happy medium, so that's what it's designed for. Got to consider table space too.
The objects can change every time you do it (and will do if you're walking up to people and borrowing things), but there are certain objects I prefer and that are easier to borrow/find. Details of these are included in the vid, pdf. It depends what you have on you and what's available where you are working at the end of the day. I also include a list of items to use if you're not doing it impromptu. |

Sounds terrific! Havent watched the video yet, but it if is as it says it sounds very interesting.
Can it be less then 7 items? for me atleast, I feel 7 can be a bit lengthy , and with the spelling and all might take a bit too much time. Anyhow, I'm waiting for the release. |

With seven items it takes less than two minutes to as long as you want. Yes, it could be less, but again I haven't included for this - you'd need to work it out yourself.

For info, these are the non-impromptu things I suggest in the video:
Pack of cards Sharpie Polo mints Your phone Keys USB drive Chain (as in jewellery) You might have all of them on you, maybe not the chain but it doesn't have to be that. That's what just works for me, as in they're on me or in my pockets. They're not set in stone. |

I was given a review copy of this, and I have to say I honestly love it. I'm a big fan of Quinta by Phill Smith, but after performing it a bunch, I have had several people say things like "I don't know how you did it but it seems like it had to be some math thing." Which is unfortunate.
PsySpell is inspired by Quinta but takes it to a whole new level by using an extra principle that totally dispels the idea that it could be a math thing. The spectator honestly gets to pick which direction to spell from. No equivoke. Totally free choice. And if they had gone the other direction, they would have landed on a different object. This is easily verifiable and very fooling, even if you know how to do Quinta. The downside? The teaching is a bit more complicated than I typically like. Adrian gives you a lot of options up front on variations, which is great for flexibility, but it also ends up making it feel more complicated than it needs to be. There are various (too many?) options for various positions. I think I would have preferred that Adrian give us a fixed set of objects at first to teach us the principles involved and then in the appendix offered variations for different objects. I think it would have been easier to learn. Overall, I honestly think it's a great deal at €9.95. If I had paid for it, I would not have regretted my purchase at all. It's a really nice combination of techniques I haven't seen before that work well together and offer plenty of room for making it your own. I see this as a whole principle (ala Ben Harris's Silent Running) that you can expand on endlessly. Adrian only talks about 7 items, but I think it wouldn't be hard to simplify this to 5 objects or even expand it to 9+. |

By the way, my personal favorite object list is:
* My business card * A credit card * A salt shaker * A phone * My keys * Money * Money clip |

Thanks for the review and especially the advice on the teaching side. It won't be today but I will make another video that does just like you suggested to go in the middle of the current one. It's a good idea - cheers!

Got a review copy I like this it is easy to do seems completely fair and as imacmagic mentioned it is very versatile and can be done with many different objects. I'd use this more in impromptu situations but could be used formally or on stage. 8/10

Accidentally posted without this
Pros- Easy to do, well written, lots of different items that could be used. Cons- not great video quality, some might think too long as I said above 8/10 |

Adrian As an aside, if you're worried that it might take too long to perform, if you breeze through it as is, you'll be done and dusted in under two minutes. That said, you can go straight from spelling their thought of word, to spelling to the final item. I haven't included that in the instructions/video, but once you understand how it works, it's easily doable. Cheers. |

Adrian - must the phone be spelled as "cellphone"? Where I'm from it's spelled as "mobile phone" - I'm guessing it doesn't matter, but can you confirm?

That's great. Can it also be repeated for the same crowd (another item spelled to eventually) without giving the method away (and without rearranging the items)? I'm ok if it can't, but if it can, it'll add to the mystery.

Ideally you'll swap in some new items too: use your preferred items first and for the repeat suggest using some things personal to them. Seems plausible? *I say 'maybe' have planned, because you don't really need to. But if you know you're going to repeat it, it will give a bit more flexibility for the re run. |

I don't normally like spelling effects but this looks impossible, so I bought it.
Love it! I thought I had a clue on how it is done - but I was about 2-3 steps behind. It's very fooling and the participant really has a free choice as to which direction he wants to go when spelling out the object. If he goes one way, he ends up on a different object than if he goes the other way. Yet your prediction is always correct. The audience who are following along in their heads will also experience different results too - which is awesome. A tip - read the PDF first before watching the video. I had no problems following Adrian's explanations in the video, as the PDF is very clear. |
