Yes, an unexpanded one which must be paired with a cut down coin.
For example, Schoolcraft "Dean's Sets" are unexpanded. |

The only reason you need a Expanded shell is if you are going to Borrow 4 half's ( As it said's in Bobo's ) And your not going to do that today !

Unless you plan on doing multiple effects use coins handled by spectators, or utilize a shimmed or magnetic coin, or masking a different type of coin.
Silliest thing I have ever seen is putting away a coin in one pocket, then pulling out another for the next trick. But yes, for a single effect a non-expanded gaff may be better such as the TUC where an EXP [ can then be added if desired. Many coin boxes will not accept an EXP coin. Then there are 'sliders' as a different kind of EXP [
