Hello all -
I learned the Larry Jennings Chop cup routine in the 80s. I love the routine and have been performing it in restaurants and private parties. I learned it and continue to do it seated. Loads in the lap. Recently, I have been wanting to do the routine in a parlor/stand up show. I have tried many things for the loading. I don't do body loads. I have used the instand table, with the extended extra shelf as a servant, Suitcase tables for cover and the loads on the shelf. Just curious if anyone else does this routine standing and how they manage the loads. thanks, David |

I've done it standing. I've used a servant, I've used body loads, and I've just put them in my coat pockets.

Hi
Just getting over open heart surgery and poking around the Café and noticed a reference to Jennings. Back in the day I hung with Larry when he lived in Detroit. We worked on the cup routine together. Since then I have done a lot of work on the cups. One focus became to develop a routine you guys want. I think. The routine uses a small felt bag with three small and the final load. No extras and no gimmicks. You can do the routine in your birthday suit. No steals or body loads. Can do standing. Customer holds hand out as a table. They examine the props and spread bag over their hand like a table cloth. If you subscribe to Genii its free. Richard says it will be in the November issue to finish off my column for the year. He strongly recommends watching a video of it on Genii digital before reading the method. He claims he watched a video of it first. He claims he watched it three times and had no clue where to final load came from. I guess it is fun to be fooled. Realize that I have been working of this project since working with Larry long ago. all the best Al
Magic Al. Say it fast and it is magical.

Thanks Al. And he's right--I was badly fooled.
