Basically slated on WPR. And as I correctly assumed ‘state normal’ this relies on a perfect faro so basically total waste of money.

Are people who can't do a perfect faro even allowed on this forum?!

Nice job Topcliffe, it's fun when you get it. I'm thinking for this trick it might even be possible to get away with a few mistakes - as the spectator is unlikely to notice, for example, if the 6 and 7 of clubs are reversed. And even if the spectator notices a couple of discrepancies at the end it's still quite impressive

Thanks - I'm really having fun exploring effects relying on faro, and I agree with you on not getting it perfect: in my view, it could even be a stronger effect if you say something like "I'm still working on this, so I probably didn't get it 100% right, but at least the suits are together." That way it seems like a demonstration of card-handling skill rather than a gaff.

Overall though, I'm still not really happy in general with Anarchy. I've been living with it for over a week now, and the thing that gets me is that it has lots of moving parts. Aside from the gaff cards (which I'll count as one), the effect relies on three other gaffs, for a total of four. They're not elaborate gaffs, they're easy to make, but it's four things - aside from faroing - that you have to keep track of when working under fire.

Steve, great review! Wish I’d seen your review before I picked this up! The numerous gotta-be-careful moments you mentioned killed it for me. The fact that I cannot do a perfect faro shuffle 100% of the time and the fact that there are so many other great triumph versions out there, made this version one I’ll pass on. Just not for me. looks beautiful, though.
