I am not sure if this is the correct area to post. I am looking for a good close up case. Any suggestion on a manufacturer or vendor. I have search on here and the web. No luck. Thanks

It depends on the props!

In the early '50s, while in the Navy, I carried my 30 minute club act, in a leather shaving kit, about cigar box size!

70 years later, I'm using a "fat" attache case (13" x 20" x 8") for my 45 minute school assembly program and club dates.

In both situations, the props are basically generic. Silks, rope, golf balls, cards (for fancy shuffles) egg bag, spot card, boomerang sticks, brakawa fan, 3 linking rings, 5 silver dollars and a "tin" can for a coin pail.

Most of the props in the school show or club act, can be used for strolling, or "close up".

Go visit a good thrift store. You can find all sorts of small cases (cheap!)

A case like this is very handy. Lots of compartments to keep things in order and space at the bottom for extras https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/caboodles-1......c=aw.ds#

I currently use this one: https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic/......e-up-bag

Prior to that, I used this one:

They have both served me well.

Is it for storage or taking to gigs?
I have a small box like this for travel
http://dexprotection.com/shop/deck-boxes......e-large/

I can carry extra items in it; professors nightmare, a couple of extra decks of cards, a velvet cord for ring and string, a nest of wallets, and Chop cup https://www.mjmmagic.com/store/mini-harm......wGvD_BwE
It is also small enough that I can carry it and set it down. It does not take up an enormous space on a table. It is solid enough that I can use it as a raised surface which I can place my cards on, keeping them off the table grime and it also works as a mini stage for the chop cup. If it’s walk around and no tables, I leave it in the glove compartment of my car and I am able to go switch out what I need during a break. Since everything is pocket sized, I’m able switch out and replace items as needed and not be over stuffed.

It depends on what you're looking for.

For strolling I use this: https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic/......e-up-bag

For my full close up show I use a doctor's bag that I found on Amazon by searching "doctor's bag for men"

Lots of great stuff available at http://www.theambitiouscard.com. I use his table top and table servants (nylon bag).

Here's a nice case. Don't know if I'd want to carry it around. Might be a bit heavy. It would be nice to keep props in at home though.

That's sweet looking, and would look great in my magic room, which is pretty rustic. Would be nice for smaller props, e.g. coins, thimbles, paddles, etc.

I have one similar to that and I think it's a great idea.
Mine is about half that height.

I don't really use it anymore but I like the style.

It's interesting how many posts get started by someone and then you never hear back from them.

A new 'Luxury version' of this seems to be coming soon.

Am I the only person that uses a plastic toolbox to store his props? I’m still looking for a wooden close-up box, but for storage at home my portable toolbox does a great job.

I use a leather day planner/organizer. I carry 3 decks of cards, loops, magnets, thumbtips, poker chips, coins, raven, and double stick tape. Smile

Nope. You are not alone. I started off with some nice decent size clear plastic totes (around 12" x 24" and 8" to 20" tall) that stack on the matching lids and some stack frames that hold 3 plastic drawers (various sizes and clear drawers). Then I decided to store all of my different coin sets (half dollar and quarter) in a "Flambeau" bait tray that I got in the fishing part of Wal-Mart Sporting Goods. I also taped together a sheet and a half of Card Stock from my printer and made a map similar to those fancy boxes of chocolates. I also have a similar tray (no name brand) that I have my balls for cups and balls, chop cups, manipulation balls (1") and some final loads like mini tennis balls from pet department.

I also have a cheap plastic set from the tool section that are deeper and more open (set of 3 different size and style) I keep my Dollar size coin sets (with map) coin purses (gaffed and regular) along with all my jumbo coins and one for magnets in many forms as well as some various non magnetic magic related items.

Other than those items that sort of need "filed" as such, I use 17 gallon black and yellow sturdy totes for larger props Matching black and yellow 5 gallon totes (set of 6 from Amazon) Each tote comfortably holds 6 bricks each of playing cards (and yes, I well over 30 bricks on hand). One 5 gallon tote and 1 17 gal tote hold all of my gaffing tools and supplies (jigs. adhesives. tools).

seems like a lot but in the end, it is VERY organized and easy to find what I need at the time.

And my wife thinks I have too much magic stuff. Wait 'til I get to tell her I'm a mere piker in the world of hoarding magic props and books. Sounds like an amazing collection of goodies you've got there.

You should see the bookshelf Smile

My wife bugs me from time to time (or once a month) to sell some stuff so the kids won't be stuck when I pass. I told her my youngest son has the password to the file with retail prices and prices for books that won't sell well (as well as prices many will fetch well above retail). I also have a list of some people who buy estates if they just want to dump it all. Bases are covered. Smile

Always good to have a backup plan. Mine is to simply live forever. If that doesn't work out for some reason, I'm assuming my family will throw almost everything I own on eBay.

A cheap briefcase on eBay is great. locks, has organising folders in the lid and holds plenty of cards and tricks.
I carry a whole restaurant tables hopping set in m mine and use a freezer cold bag with built in ice inserts to carry my blocks of ice and other cold bits!!
I found the TCC case to be a bit small.
Just my pennies worth.
