Hi everyone!

I'm Alex, mathematician from Spain, currently living in Madrid.

My main hobby is boardgaming, and I have had a deck of cards in my left hand for ages. Some day I thought, why not learn magic? And a year ago started my studies.

I really like cartomagic (because of my main hobby) and mathematic magic (because I'm a maths nerd). I'm currently reading Royal Road to Magic, Cartomagia Fundamental and Roberto Giobbi's Card College, a little bit of here and there. I also love Bob Hummer and Martin Gardner stuff, and I really like comment these two magicians with you and try to learn a lot.

Thank you for opening the registrations, I was lurking this forum for two months, and I'm looking forward to try to collaborate.

Did you see Jandro in Fool Us? Really proud of him! Smile

Welcome darkfonix.

There are some good card mentalism you can do with math.

I saw Jandro on YouTube and loved him. I have a hard time believing Penn and Teller was fooled. Nested boxes have been done many times.

Thanks!

Yes, I'm trying to get a good collection of math card magic, I see that mentalism and permutations tricks are the more usual, and I like them a lot Smile

Welcome darkfonix,

I admire anyone who can do math in the heat of performance.

Hi darkfonix,

If you are interested in the nerdiest of math based card magic books, you might want to take a look at Magical Mathematics by Persi Diaconis and Ron Graham. Good luck with your studies.

I didn't know that book!! Thank you very much, Feral Chorus!! I'm buying right now Smile

A bokk that I have the eye on is
Mathematical Card Magic: Fifty-Two New Effects - Colm Mulcahy (Autor)

It looks more a math book than a magic book, but it looks really promising!
