Does anyone know if the explanation for Dean Dill's "Dean's Box" has been published in any book or magazine? Looking to cite it for a bibliography in a Box Magic research project I'm doing. I found a reference (link below) to Stewart James' Double Ring ceremony which was a forerunner to Dean's Box but curious if there's a direct book or article citation anyone knows of.
https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/person/606 I know the box isn't the gimmick and the rope trick is actually "Loops Entwined" by Jack Avis and also cited as inspired by “Linked” byPaul Curry but looking for anything with Dean's Box in particular. P&T |

You have to be an owner of the Dean Box, then you receive the instructions. Already your conclusions seem to be not factual. The Dean Box came with a routine. Then many others have added bits and pieces from other source material. That does not make it part of the original offering.
All this goes farther back then Jack Avis and Paul Curry. Your 1st task is to get to a huge library like the Magic Circle in London, or The Magic Castle in Los Angeles, California. Good luck in your endeavor. |

Original Dean's Box just showed up on a used magic site. Comes with VHS video tape, so you need a VHS tape player.

I got one from another magician and it came with a VHS tape. I guess I'm going to Goodwill to get a VHS player. Unless there happens to be a place I can send the VHS and have it replaced with a DVD????

You can email her to find out if they are all spoken for yet or if you can still place an order (if she is taking pre-orders , which I am not sure whether she is ... ask her). Contact info is on the Nielsen website: https://nnmagic.com/ If your question is: "what is a Dean's Box ?" , it is a routine developed by Dean Dill. Here's a demonstration : https://youtu.be/uMRe4TxEjo0 . . |
