What’s a reasonable price for a used Deans Box that is in good condition?

Thanks,

Charles

Deans box 2.0 sells for $425 new. not sure what is different other than the price. Some of original models came with VHS tape instructions, then on CD later. Have not seen the real ones offered for less than $250 recently. Nobody should buy or sell the fake ones. Pretty easy to spot a fake. Hinges are never right the finish looks cheap or painted. Many have curtains that have the wrong pattern or color and ropes that are not red and white. The real ones all pretty much look the same....High quality. Many but not all have a trade mark logo. I would think $250 is a fair price for a complete undamaged original.

Yep, $250 plus seems to be right about the market for an original.

I’ll never forget driving my motorcycle to Dean’s Shoppe in Glendale to pick up Dean’s Box. It was a late July 3rd afternoon back in ‘02 or ‘03 and his shop was closed. I was bummed because I was anxious to finally get one. Dean was out on his fenced in patio area cleaning his grill for the next day’s 4th of July festivities and noticed that I had pulled up. He was so gracious and opened his shop just for me to get the box. Good memories.

Does anyone know if these are still being sold new, and if so, where?

Thanks in advance.

There was Dean's Box 2.0, which was the official version after Dean passed away, but I don't see it available anywhere. I believe Stevens Magic offered it, but I don't see it on their site.

Just checked and Murphys has Deans box 2.0 in stock. Of course they only sell to dealers so you need to order it from your preferred magic shop.

I have a Dean's Box and a very remarkable email from him before he passed. I love the box and always will. Specially for him the creator to write to me personally before he passed, which, I will always treasure.

It really made it even more special to me. I will always treasure the email and the trick. There is none better in my opinion.

I have Deans box with his logo embossed on side. Dean was a good guy and a great performer. Rip offs don't have logo on box. It is one of the favorite effects in my collection.

The Dean box sold by Hocus Pocus don’t have the logo embossed and is not a rip off.

Today I have received a new Deans Box! It has no embossed logo, my first box had but unfortunately it was stolen from my car!
I believe that the 2.0 boxes have no logo embossed anymore!

Didn't realize logo is no longer put in the box. If Hocus Pocus sells it should be good. Have purchased several pieces from them and all are authentic. Very good supplier
Sorry for posting wrong info.

Hocus Pocus is a solid and reputable shop with a good reputation. I doubt they would ever risk smearing their reputation by selling a knock-off.

Even though the Hocus Pocus Dean’s Boxes do not include the embossing I can attest to their fine construction. What I did not like was the quality of rings sent with it. Even though they are welded solid there is still an obvious break line in the ring. It makes it awkward to hand out for examination when the spectator says, “What’s this break in the ring?” For $425 they could have provided some nicer rings. But the box looks fabulous.
