I am slowly learning my way through here. I only did so by the suggestion of few people to post more often than not to get to somewhere if you want to. But in the process I got carried away and posted some one liner comments like "I like it" Its very clever" and such on most of the products I own. I got a PM from the admins and I will correct myself. But what I don't understand is that people like you who have 7000+ posts to your credit, I wonder how many of them were meaningful. I have seen you posting about drinking beer and such which were so helpful to the magic community. sigh. As much as I want to abide by the rules of the community, I am sad that I have to look up on people like you to follow the guidelines. I have been a huge magic fan since years and I almost buy every product that comes out these days, but its people's humility that brings us together than quickly jumping to conclusions and imagining a spammer than an enthusiast. A simple PM from any one of you could have done the job and I would have slowed down with more meaningful posts. Just saying. |

^That's big of you to admit this. Thanks for the apology and good to see that you had no ill intent.
I agree too on your words on humility, and, indeed, perhaps a PM to you could have helped ...but please know we can only judge by your words and deeds here. And they were very spam-like...One after another. And on so many different threads that it is easy to see how that could be construed as spamming. So much so that I stopped believing that you even had any of the dozens of items you were posting about. While I didn't pm you, I did try to warn you (albeit a bit snarky), on some of your posts, that your credibility/reputation could be at stake (since taken down). You would think, in this social media age, where posting etiquette is pretty common sense nowadays, we wouldn't have to warn you...but it is what it is. And yes, we all have some posts that don't amount to much....but that's because we've established ourselves already. Made connections. Provided, to some extent, meaningful insights and helped others. So we can engage here and there with some light banter..but the key word there is ENGAGE. This thread, before your posting spree, was a perfect opportunity for you to do so. You had Magic KL begging the Café (and you) for as much detail as possible on this light/heavy cube. You could have been the savior! The hero! Yet, it was as though he had to pull teeth to get so little from you. I would have loved to hear your thoughts on the effect...it's practicality...quality...how you've been using it. But alas, all we got were one statement replies. Again, all you have to do is engage. Anyway, alls well that ends well. I'm glad to see that you seem like a straight up and decent guy. The above is said with no malice towards you. I'm just a wannabe magician trying to help out.. |

Back to our topic, the light and heavy cube... well, how to start?
first: I ordered it directly over facebook at paul hamilton. it was a friendly contact and a quick delivery. perfect! second: the cube is a "modern speed cube", fitting optical to the cubes of "rubreak", kieron johnsons "isolated" and very close to "rubiked", so like the giiker ones. that means it does not fit to "venom cube" and other "old-style" effects. third: that means too, that it is not the cube shown in the trailer (the one the guy in the pub is playing with), what I do not find totally ok, but for me it did not matter and paul told me before on facebook! forth: yes, the cube has normal function and is examinable. fifth: I do not like the effect... and after the friendly contact its not easy for me to say that, but how it is now, I do not like it. why? its not "heavy" enough. and it does not matter which method for the effect is used here (i hoped the other one), but the spectator will lift it up, even with the 2 fingers. and in the moment it loses contact, it gets "light" and the spectator "feels" the method. i m not "done yet" with the effect. thinking about some stuffs... if my ideas grow up I will contact paul hamilton again. first off all it is his effect. |
