The advanced guys already know this.
Page 97 might be the the greatest example of Dai Vernon's sheer genius. The nuance is off the charts. Roberto Giobbi actually improved it in his download, but this is really Dai Vernon and an insight to his genius. This is a challange for me. The third card palm is not sufficiently described...but now I get it. Genius. This is a masterpiece. I am posting this to motivate people to absorb the all time classics. Stars of Magic is one of the greatest books ever published in our field Kevin |

It's a routine worthy of study, even if you don't use it. It's a good thing to read and think about - where you think Vernon was right, where you think he was wrong, what you think would work better for you, etc.
There's arguably better layouts and handling of the palm in other variations of the trick, and ultimately you choose what works for you. But studying this trick will help you grow not just in technique but in how you think. I prefer the re-assessment in handling in the Vernon Chronicles - and the write up in general than in Stars. |

One of my most magical times ever was watching R Paul Wilson perform slow motion aces at the close-up room of the Magic Castle. Pure poetry. Wow.

Maybe we're looking at different editions. Let's call the cover page with title (1). You are describing the setup to exchange packets on page (5) which includes pictures 7 and 8 (featuring the two of diamonds). The text below picture 8 is "(exposed view - showing position of the cards at completion of the palm)." Yes?
BTW in my copy (Tannen's 1961) page 96 is the text about Jacob Daley posing for figures 5-9. Page 97 is the start of Travelers.

I think you're correct Jonathan. I have the same edition. Love the classics.

Quote: That's a fine performance of a streamlined version of the Vernon routine. That transfer is also streamlined.
