I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

The first 3 clues were the Jeopardy! answer Cliff had for final jeopardy. It was the first thing that sprang to mind when I saw the title of this thread.

Well, if no one else is going to jump in, here goes:

Who said the following?

1. Simplicity is a most complex form.

2. Music is the tonal reflection of beauty.

3. If it sounds good, it IS good.

No idea, but those are three intriguing ideas coming from one person. I'm really curious.

Mr. Salk, you'll have to wait to start a new one until the current clues are answered ...

Here's another clue for the above:

Who said the following?

1. Simplicity is a most complex form.

2. Music is the tonal reflection of beauty.

3. If it sounds good, it IS good.

4. By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

Not Miles, but you're on the right track, Mr. Salk! Here's another quote from this individual:

5. There are two rules in life: Number one - never quit. Number two - never forget rule number one.

This one is tough. There are a plethora of soul/jazz musicians who seem like they'd have that attitude. John Coltrane?

No other guesses? This should give it away:

6. Music is my mistress and she plays second fiddle to no one.

OK, since no one else is guessing, I'll provide the easiest clue:

7. It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.

I didn't think so.

The name that springs to mind when I hear "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" is Satchmo.

I take it that that ain't the answer.
