Alan M's got it! Mark David Chapman.

16. In 1980 I fired five shots at John Lennon with a Charter Arms .38 special revolver, hitting him four times in the back. For the next few minutes, I remained at the scene reading J. D. Salinger's novel The Catcher in the Rye, until I was arrested by the police.

And what a hated man Chapman was back then. December 8th 1980. Followed by an amazing vigil (funeral) on Dec 14th.

I remember that vigil well. It was a remarkable gathering.
Thanks for that info on Chapman, arthur. I had no idea about his background at all. I had always assumed he was a New Yorker.

I was surprised too, Landmark, having thought the same thing. There are some other unusual facts about Chapman on Wikipedia, which I did not include.

Sorry for the delay, folks. Here we go...

1) I grew up with two sisters. But in my 30's I learned that one was actually my mother, and the other, my aunt.
2) In 1957 I joined the California Air National Guard, and have insinuated that it was to dodge the draft.
3) I first went to Hollywood in 1954, but my big acting break didn't come until 1969.

I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

1. I am actually two people. (Hence doubling of the clues.)
2. We moonlighted on outside projects, including the original title sequences and commercials for the CBS sitcom I Love Lucy.
3. As to whose name should come first was resolved by a coin toss.
4. Our studio won eight Emmys and were given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976.
5. We produced the opening credits for Bewitched.
6. One of us was a native of Melrose, New Mexico, and the other was born of Italian heritage in New York City, where we first met at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio in 1939
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

That was fast. I tried to skirt the obvious clues.

:)

Well, you are an animator, after all...Can't say I was a a big fan of them (I was more a WB guy) but I still remember that the first comic book I ever read--I guess I was about six or seven--starred Huckleberry Hound.

1. I was born in Consett, England in 1955
2. I received a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
3. I was voted by my peers as number 24 in a British list of 50 all-time best practitioners of my craft.
