OK, understood. The answer is one of my idols, Duke Ellington. One of the two main reasons I came to the USA to study music was to learn how to compose and arrange in his style. (The other reason was to learn all there is to know about film scoring).

I must say, I’m flabbergasted that no one guessed his name. He’s one of the true masters of American jazz. I thought everybody (at least those older Café Members born in the USA) would be familiar with some of his quotes.

Well, let someone else have a go. I believe Mr. Salk had posted these clues:

Guess who?

1. Mark
2. Bent
3. Tigran

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

When I saw "Boris" first thing that sprang to my mind was Moose and Squirrel...
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

Cliff tipped it for me by putting forth 'chess'. It was enough for me to remember a few tidbits from the movie Searching for Bobby Fischer.

If Ed Rhodes sees this he will know it instantly.
