10. In the 1980's I got to play two action heroes on TV. The first was an original show that I starred in and ran one season. The second was character who was licensed from a comic book company, and appeared in a team-up TV movie.

I had to look up "team-up movie", Cliff. Never heard that phrase before.

11. Years later, the character I played in the "team-up" was re-cast. A big-budget film was made starring no less than Ben Afleck.

12. For my original action hero role, I had to learn to ride a motorcycle.

13. I have appeared on no less than 11 musical albums, though admittedly a few of them are cast records from my stage work.

The only 1970s one-hit wonders I can remember offhand are Johnny Nash (I Can See Clearly Now) and Debbie Boone (You Light Up My Life).

Sorry, Arthur. I do think of these people as "Mainstream," but to some others, I suppose they are not. Johnny Nash had an amazing voice. I loved his rendition of "Hercules."

Anyway, this mystery guest was... Rex Smith. He played Daredevil in "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk." He and Lou Ferrigno took on the Kingpin. The Kingpin was played well by John Rhys-Davies. This was the first time Daredevil was played live. Rex also played the "Streethawk." a blatant rip-off of knight rider. A wounded cop is chosen to disguise himself and given a high-tech, government, street racing, motorcycle.

I was born in 1942 to middle-class parents of Welsh descent. Breathing problems at the age of four left me with asthma that lasted for the rest of my life.

I enjoyed badminton and diving at school, and played clarinet in the school band. I did well in physics and chemistry, but failed biology.

I angered teachers with my non-conformist behavior, though I was popular with others in my class. A childhood friend described me as “a rebel without a cause.”

Both my parents were interested in music; my father was a piano teacher in addition to his job as an aeronautical engineer, and my mother played piano and organ and led the choir at the local church.

I listened to classical music as a child but also developed an interested in jazz and blues.

I became proficient on saxophone, guitar, and other instruments.

At age 17, I began performing at local jazz and blues clubs.

In 1959, I quit school and left home, traveling for a summer through northern Europe.

During this period, I lived a bohemian lifestyle, busking with my guitar on the streets for money, and living off the charity of others.

After moving to London, I became friends with like-minded musicians who made up the small London jazz and r&b scene, including future Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones and future Cream bassist Jack Bruce.

I formed my own band in 1962 and was very instrumental in promoting the group. But because I acted as the band's business manager, I earned more than the other members, which created resentment.

However, after we landed a recording contract, my ability to play a wide variety of instruments was invaluable and formed an integral part of our early albums.

By 1963, I had fathered illegitimate children with four different girlfriends.

And in 1964, I paid a fifth girlfriend to keep quiet about the child I had fathered with her.

My band had a number of hit records in the 1960s. Unfortunately, the arrival of a new manager caused problems when he pushed the band into a direction at odds with my musical preference.

This led to alcohol and drug problems. As a result, my performances became increasingly unreliable, leading to a diminished role within the band I had founded.
