Actually I am thinking there was a famous Scott called William Wilson, but I don't know for sure if he was in the right time period. Mt. Wilson of course is famous and well known.

There are lots of William Wilsons; I'm not sure of which one you're thinking.

Also, it's Scot, not Scott.

Neither did I.

I (wrongly, as it turns out) assumed that it was named for Woodrow Wilson.
