No and no.
7. I idolized the Beach Boys and, given the opportunity - even at the peak of my own band’s fame - I would have left to join the California band. |

11. In a limousine on the way to the airport, I insisted they return to my hotel, saying "I forgot something." At the hotel I ran back to my room, grabbed the television and threw it out of the window into the swimming pool below. I then jumped back into the limo, saying "I nearly forgot.”

Yes! The one and only Keith Moon. I was as surprised as anybody to learn that he idolized the Beach Boys.
He was one of the earliest rock drummers to regularly employ double bass drums in his setup. He also loved smashing his kit on stage and destroying hotel rooms on tour. He was fascinated by destroying TV sets and blowing up toilets with cherry bombs or dynamite. Moon destroyed friends' homes and even his own, throwing furniture from upper-storey windows and lighting fires. Peter Frampton told me of an incident that happened when he was on tour with The Who (first as their opening act, then after Frampton Comes Alive became a smash hit, as the headliner). One night he was fast asleep in a hotel room when he was awakened by an awful loud noise. It was Keith Moon, whose hotel room was right underneath Frampton's, sawing his way through the ceiling (and thus through the floor of Frampton's room) with an electric chain saw! When the hole was big enough, Moon stood on a desk, popped his head through and said something like, “Oi, mate!” |

Here is a bit of trivia before I pick up again.
- Depending on how you count, there have been 87 - 89 people to guess on this thread. - There has been one repeated person to guess (P.T. Barnum twice) - Thee of the people to guess were nailed after just the three initial clues. - The most clues before getting the right answer was 17 1) I was born in 1941 in Minnesota 2) My father was an amateur pianist, I credit him with my love of music 3) I was married to the same woman for over 30 years. The only reason the marriage ended was her passing on.
