His musicals won 37 Tonys, 15 Academy Awards, two Grammys, two Emmys, and two Pulitzers. His daughter Mary Rodgers, and grandsons Adam Guettel and Peter Melnick, are all musical theater composers. He was ready to call show biz quits and enter the child's underwear business. Fortunately for the world, in 1925, he and Lorenz Hart had a hit with the song "Manhattan" and he figured he'd stick it out.

And, lets not forget that she does not use her real name. When asked in interviews about it, she claims her mother named her Madonna. Her first movie role, an NYU student film, opens with the credit, "Starring... `Her real name'." By the way, that film is horrible. Really the bet thing about it was her costars acting. She sued to have the film censured, but lost. Not because of her name, but due to a disturbing rape scene in it.
