Having opened a show with that very line I know well who this is, and yet I will pass to let others have a turn.

Bingo! Clarke it is!

(My next clue would have referenced his collaboration with director Stanley Kubrick on “2001: A Space Odyssey.”)

Ed is up now.
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (occultism, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836

OK.

I was born in England but was brought to New York by my family at the age of three.

After a brief career as a boxer, I ventured into show business, vaudeville at first, then Broadway.

I had a 80 year career, stage, radio, screen and television.

FYI, we have currently had 243 people to guess since this game started. Back on page 108 I posted an alphabetical list in word format of names used so far. I am working on an updated list, but I am also working so it may take a while.

Thanks so much for that great list, Cliff! Appreciate you putting it together.

As regards the current mystery personality, we need more clues, Ed Rhodes!

Thanks. The born in England but came to the US young clue was what did it for me.

1. I was born in NYC, died in France
2. I met Marlon Brando in 1944, and we were roommates for a time
3. When asked about his religious beliefs, I replied, "I'm a writer. I like doing things alone."

Good answer, but not Ernie. I'm the generation after him.

7. One of my collection of essays was named after a biblical phrase in the spiritual song, "Mary Don't You Weep."

8. In 1964 my play about race relations in the US, Blues For Mr Charlie, was produced in NYC.
