I became an Anglican country parson instead of pursuing an academic career.
Besides being an amateur inventor and photographer, I wrote several books.
It was my writing which made me famous.

Correct, Landmark! Charles Lutwidge Dodgson a.k.a Lewis Carroll it is! Here were the rest of the clues:

My pseudonym is derived from my real name in latin
I was originally reluctant to publish my first fantasy book, but my friend George MacDonald convinced me to do so.
It was an overwhelming success, not only with children but with adults as well.
It was rumored that Queen Victoria enjoyed reading it so much that she commanded me to dedicate his next book to her.
Although I vehemently denied the claims, the story goes that I presented her with the mathematical volume An Elementary Treatise on Determinants.
"Curiouser and curiouser!"

That would have been my guess after clue 7, but I was late to the party.

Yes, it is!

Harrison met Paul on the bus on the way to school, Sinatra thought "Something" was the best love song, A tone deaf judge thought "My Sweet Lord" was a rip off of "He's So Fine," so George wrote a song about that called "This Song," and the first LP released on the Apple label was George's Wonderwall Music.

Good one, Landmark! I never got into any of the solo Beatles' stuff (in fact I lost interest in the band even before they called it quits). But I was just wondering, what was George's Wonderwall album like?

I was born in 1919 in Budapest, Hungary.

I died in 1995 (aged 76) in Los Angeles, CA.

My two elder sisters were, like me, also actresses.

It was EVA Gabor (Zha Zha’s nicer sister) I was prompting. But they were so often mistaken for each other, even though they were NOT twins (despite their striking resemblance) that it’s totally understandable to confuse them. (Eva was the one who was in GREEN ACRES.)

Wow! That was a totally wild, spur-of-the-moment guess.
