Not Alan.

7. To distinguish myself from other ratio personalities I adopted a nickname and a persona: "a wild, madcap, exaggerated " . . . well, if I told you more I'd be giving away the store.

Maybe the radio DJ (whose name I don't know) who was portrayed by Robin Williams in the movie "Good Morning Vietnam"?

Interesting guess. I don't know that DJ's name (I'll see if I can look it up), but it's not he.

8. I was known for my rich bass-baritone voice.

Not Paul.

I looked up the Viet Nam DJ: Adrian Cronauer. I'd never heard the name before.

9. In 1949, I signed a recording contract with Capitol Records.

You certainly may.

Not Bill.

(Nor the Bopper. I knew you were wondering.)

10. I released almost 50 singles through the early 1950s.

You got it, Cliff!

I was somewhat surprised that nobody guessed Jim Nabors, who was a baritone, not a bass-baritone.

The final word missing from the description of his persona (clue 7) is "hillbilly".

Jim Nabors was a hoosier through and through, so the TN connection didn’t work.

I am laughing at myself. I just looked it up and I could not be more wrong. Nabors only real tie to Indiana was his singing of Back Home Again in Indiana before the Indy 500 for more than 40 years. That's hardly hoosier through and through
