Aside from the persona I had created, I’ve also appeared in non-character roles in movies such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure, All About Evil, and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold.

My popularity reached its zenith with the release of a feature film based on my onstage character. Several years later, I made a sequel which was
screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

I was married for 22 years to a musician with whom I had one daughter. However, in my memoir I revealed that following my separation from my husband, I began a 19-year relationship with a woman.
