8, I refused to extend my contract,
The show was cancelled with only 8 episodes made in the last season. 9, I would appear as my character for the last time in my shows spin off, starring lucy lawless. |

11, although I'm best known for playing Hercules,
in recent years I've starred in many Christian films. If no one gets it in a few hours I'll give the name. |

I'm completely out of my depth with this one, Fedora, since none of the clues ring a bell, and I'm not familiar with any of the actors, characters, movies or TV shows you mentioned.

Who wants to go next?
I’ve got a new personality ready, but I’ll delay for a few hours to give someone else the chance to jump in. |

As a reminder, Cliffg37 very kindly provided an alphabetized list of the first 100 personalities used thus far. There’s a link to download his list on page 202.
I’ve kept track of all the names since then, which I’ll share when we reach another 100 (got about 80 so far). But I don’t know how to put them into alphabetical order. Perhaps some kind soul has a suggestion? (I don’t have any fancy software. Just Word). |

Born in 1874, in Ireland.
A voracious reader as a child, it sparked a passion for adventure...which predicted my future. Restlessness at school was such that I was allowed to leave school at 16 and go to sea. During the following four years at sea, I learned my trade, visiting the far corners of the earth and forming acquaintances with a variety of people from many walks of life, learning to be at home with all kinds of men - which would stand me in life-saving stead, later. Though I first earned my living on the sea, the sea eventually became only the means to take me to the area of the world for which I would be best known - legendary, in fact.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Extreme exploration was my business, eventually focusing on one particular region of the world. My successes garnered a knighthood.
My greatest achievement, however, came about not via leading my men to a great success, but leading and rescuing them from what should have been certain death in what seemed an impossibly hopeless situation. As someone once said of me, "Scott for scientific method, Amundsen for speed and efficiency but when disaster strikes and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for (me)." I died of a heart attack, age 47, while on my way to another expedition. I was voted eleventh in a BBC poll of the 100 Greatest Britons.

In 1914 I went on an expedition to cross Antarctica from sea to sea, via the pole. To this end, I made preparations for what became the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.
Disaster struck this expedition when our ship, Endurance, became trapped in pack ice in January 1915. By November, our ship was crushed by the ice and we had to move our lifeboats and supplies to the ice. In April 1916, after concluding that the ice would not drift us to civilization, we launched lifeboats to reach Elephant Island, which took 5 days. Elephant Island was an inhospitable place, far from any shipping routes; rescue by means of chance discovery was very unlikely. Consequently, I decided to risk an open-boat (life boat!) journey to the 720-nautical-mile-distant South Georgia whaling stations, where I knew help was available. I selected 5 to go with me in a reinforced boat. The rest remained on Elephant Island. It took 15 days, but we made it! To recap, Endurance became trapped in pack ice in January 1915. I finally reached help on South Georgia Island in May 2016. Those left on Elephant Island were rescued in August. This was my most famous exploit. A brief description really doesn't do justice to the story. It bears repeating: "Scott for scientific method, Amundsen for speed and efficiency but when disaster strikes and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for (me)."

Ernest Shackleton it is! Shackleford is close enough, haha.
I would encourage anyone not familiar with him and this expedition to 'read all about it'! You're up!
