I just ran across this Ekaterian recent video, on how to make and obtain Gaff playing cards.
I thought some of you might be interested in this video and so I am posting here for your enjoyment It is an alternative to making one card at a time. |

With this method, you still need to know how to create pips to upload, but the printing will be better then you home printer. So there is still some work for the magician wanting to make new replacement gaff cards for packet tricks that have worn out.
Using MPC will make it possible you don't have to go to Lybrary dot com and order blank card stock, and cut them out by hand, which can be very difficult to do. |

I think I shared this before. It's not gaffs, but a similar process of creating a simple patterned back in the Inkscape (free) vector editor. My whole vector set is created to be used with that program.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73h2B7QvkUY A lot of people use the vectors images for non magical purposes. http://www.totalnonsense.com/conjure-nat......8&t=6191 |

I have used MPC for some promotional printing - excellent service. Now working with them for some custom gaff cards (faces) and designing my own backer.

If you need project files for making gaff cards you can ask someone in the custom cards department at USPCC. That's what I did, They sent me the adobe Photoshop and Illustrator files for all the standard faces as well as the files for the maiden back design. I used them to print a couple gaffs for a trick I put out. (See Image Below)

One of the last living 10-in-one performers. I wanted to be in show business the worst way, and that was it.

I've purchased several gaff cards from Kevin Reylek (Magician Gear). Unfortunately, he's no longer responding to emails. I hope he is okay.
I need two custom double-face cards (specific cards) in Bicycle face. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good card splitter/gaffer? Mark

Just wanted to chime in that I am very much still around and responding to messages. My last email from Mark came less than 48 hours before his post above. Typically I respond to any messages same day or within 24 hours, but like many of us, occasionally have periods of being swamped.

Kevin responded to my email today. I sent him two emails, 3 days apart. He apparently only received the 2nd one. In this day of COVID, I was getting a little concerned.
Kevin makes excellent quality gaff cards and he'll be making a couple more for me. Thank you, Kevin! Mark

I believe Kevin also works for Penguin Magic, so he is probably a very busy guy juggling several roles.
As for as printing your own gaffs, besides MPC there's an equivalent US option that offers print-on-demand services of fully custom playing cards, namely Shuffled Ink. I've detailed my own positive experience in printing custom cards with them here. They have been around for a while and have a good reputation. They have no minimum order requirement, and can print fully customized playing cards that uses quality embossed stock with an air cushion style finish. |
